I have been getting a number of press releases from the TTPD and city on robberies lately, also being reported in the paper. Seems they are becoming more and more common, and the perps are now showing guns during the crimes.

Hope this trend doesn't continue and the perps are caught or stopped before they hurt someone.

It's just neg roids being neg roids so why would the TTPD give a dang? The only thing thats going to stop that kind of behavior is these punks running into the wrong person with a carry permit!

It appears they don't want to work to get $ for their wants. So much easier to rob. The news said Texarkana has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state, so why don't more of you with criminal inclinations give honest work a try?

Lot of them are druggies, too.

Which means that if we pass mandatory drug testing for welfare recipients we'll be dealing with an increase in petty theft for a while until those losers either quit getting high because it's not profitable or they all die off.

Either way it'll save us a bundle.

Well, it's our fault for not giving them jobs.

Glad you enjoyed that one. Satire at its best. I have actually heard many people say that poverty causes crime. That's like saying automobiles cause car wrecks. Flies cause garbage. Guns cause murders. Can you think of any others?

When the city works so hard build subsidized housing, the HATT keeps paying for folks rent, and there isn't a juvenile detention center to punish youth when they start their life of crime, one can only expect for things to get worse.

Some guy actually sued McDoodoo's for that reason. I don't recall if he won or not. Thing is: whatever happened to that word RESPONSIBILITY ?(Has anyone written a book on that?)

Sadly, no, Chief. There's no money in personal responsibility. The profitability margin these days lies in claiming victim and suing the pants off someone else.

The profitability also lies in charging outrageous medical service fees. They costs a lot.

Is there not several juvenile detention centers in Texarkana?

Not anymore. They shut it down. But they were merely renting bed space out to outside agencies anyways. They'd send our own juvenile offenders home because it wasn't profitable.

I know !!! These poor underprivileged youth just need to be in college. Yep, that's it; once they start taking Western Civ, English, and Biology, they will forget being a gang member and strife to make something of themselves, like maybe an Industrial Engineer or Biophysicist. Obama says everyone should go to college, so.......... we need to get them enrolled, quickly. As for tuition money? They can apply for a grant or a loan, easy.
