Why didn't she leave when her first child was beaten??

If this woman has a graduate degree and a decent job, why has she stayed with this abusive man and continued to have more children with him? Why is this our problem?

because she is stupid i geuss, i would never let anyone touch my children.whatever about her getting beat up she should not allow her kids to be beaten. she should have stabbed him in the heart and twisted the knife while it was still stuck in his beating heart. then after that,cut it out and feed it to the dogs

Wow!! My thoughts were there is a special place in H*ll for the father of her children!! For those who wonder "Why is this our problem?". Really...it isn't your problem. But thank goodness for this poor woman and for others who find themselves struggling this holiday season that the Sun Santa Fund and the generous people who give to this worthwhile charity are not as judgmental and self righteous as many of the posts on this board. If you don't like it...don't give.

All I see here are people piling on with more abuse to a women seeking help and even more abusive idiots weighing in with their two cents. Go ahead and question motive, reason, whatever, but keep your comments to yourselves. We all know people that have suffered abuse and we need to do something about it. All this article does is ask for a little help, not for the abused mother, who has gone through hell and beyond, but for her children to have an OK Christmas. Is it asking too much to tone down the rhetoric and hatred and maybe put a little love in your hearts and the lives of these children. After reading most of the comments above I can see there is no love. I myself will be making a contribution to the Santa Fund. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

she couldnt have had a good job or if this was true she could leave very easily, but if ur in a relationship like this and the man controls everything and keeps you down and kills ur self confidence then u cant really make any descion,its a bs story to a certain extent.everything we read is fabricated to allow idiots belive what they see and dont ask questions.anyone with a mind can see this story is not completely true

She did leave her abusive husband, she did get a good job, and she doesn't accept a subsidy for her rent. I think this women should be commended for her achievements. I just may donate, as all she wants is for her kids to be happy.

Half of you people are a disgrace!!! The woman who listed herself as a teacher... I wouldn't want you teaching my kid!!! You have NO IDEA what it is like to be an abused person.... Has The Sun spoken to male she has accused of these terrible assaults?

Did the abuse start after the first child or the fourth? Something here doesn't add up.

I love Sun Santa but not for baby machines.

I've heard of people taking advantage of the generocity of the Sun santa donations by taking gifts then reselling..........unfortunate ly I don't think the Santa fund would have time to run back up checks on some of these people

How many of the posters actually read this article? She DID leave him in 2001. He went to jail for 5 years. This means he is back out.
Yes, maybe she should have left sooner, but you don't know what her life was like and whether she really had the opportunity.
As for the "way too many kids" comments - if you see a family with 4 children and another on the way, and the couple is married, is this what you think automatically? I doubt it. This article was not about a single woman with 5 kids by 5 men; this was a married woman.
Has it occurred to you that a guy who thinks he has a right to beat up his pregnant wife might prevent her from using contraception as well?
Come on, show some compassion.

None of this is the fault of the Children and they are what Christmas is about! I will donate.
