Severance packages for at will employees, not for nothing is this fair,as a union employee I think I deserve a severance as well,I was never entitled to profit sharing or company cars, gas cards or any of the other perks reserved for office personal. I was not offered a job for the future,so reardons reallydoes not care about there employees,I thought this was a family business, what am I the black sheep.Again the little guy gets screwed. What else is new this is the way America has been going for a long time, the rich keep getting riher and the poor dont get a thing.

We need an "interpreter" to understand some of these posts !

As others have said, if you don't like the way Reardon has treated its employees, please feel free to go start your own distribution business like the original DJ Reardon did. Show us how to really run a company and treat employees !!

It really gets me that you feel they "owe" you a job, or that you are "entitled" to a job, and as soon as you lose it you're running to collect welfare.

Why don't you go to the classified section of this paper and start looking for a job before you run to the welfare office?

No one from Reardon is preventing you from getting a job, and the only reason the "poor don't get a thing" is they keep looking for handouts rather than working hard to start their own business.

Most of these posts about Reardon seem based in jealousy more than anything else.

Sorry your grandfather didn't have the tenacity and gumption to start his own business to hand off to you and you children. Maybe you can be the one to start the American dream for your family...

Until then, quit your whining...

I don't think the Hansons owe me anything, but you can not deny that it was a pretty crappy, for lack of a better word, move. I'm sure a piece, even a small piece, of $48million could have been spared to try to HELP the people who worked for you everyday. But instead "wonderboy" (that's what we'll call him) put it all in his pocket. It feels like, not being on fire but getting spit on anyway.

And who was it that told you that you had to join the union? The guys who get the cars, gas cards, etc. get that as part of their pay package. You guys get paid per hour, even when you work overtime. Not the sales guys. Work 40 hours or 60 per week, get the same check.
Ask your union to take care of you, that is what they preach to you to get you to join, that they really care. Where are they now??

Do you really call what you do work, you are not salesman, you are order takers, how do you sell something the company has a monopoly on.Lets be honest all those 60 hour work weeks you put in,all the ass kissing, and what did you get 2 weeks severance. Whos the real sucker, you didnt deserve the money you were getting anyhow, you are such a great salesman go sell cars loser, so quick to crap on the union but if recieved a job in medford you would have to join,so us union guys will be alright,we have real world skills, but i will keep my eyes open for a job as a proffesional kiss ass if i find anything i will let you know.
