Trees look great - why shouldn't that area have trees so that it looks nice for residents and has the added benefit of security. Plus some are pear trees so they are producing food that should save money. Town, City, State, and Federal funding all TAX PAYERS dollars go to excessive items in the interest of making the communities look nice - this was not excessive by a long shot - I think Sheriff James DiPaola did a great job with the amount of money he used and the benefit he gained - other business in that area should spring for a couple of trees to improve their areas.

I cant figure out if you are ignorant, or if that was sarcasm. You do know that the prison is
nestled between the highway, and several trucking terminals. Fruit bearing trees are a great investment though, its that little difference that makes our "house of correction" into a "home".

You just gave me an idea for my next peice of equipment. I was going to apply for a grant for a c130 for airborne ops. You know in case my swat team needs rapid deployement somewhere in middlesex county, but what I really need is a fire truck.

I agree. I was looking at the trees as I drove by yesterday and I thought they were beautiful. Then I rear ended the car in front of me because I wasn't paying attention to the road.

Deputy Sheriff's aren't better than cops? Well read this Mass general law.

PART IV. CRIMES, PUNISHMENTS AND PROCEEDINGSIN CRIMINAL CASES

TITLE I. CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS

CHAPTER 271. CRIMES AGAINST PUBLIC POLICY

Chapter 271: Section 6. Gaming relative to cattle shows, military muster or public gathering; arrest without warrant

Section 6. Whoever, during or within twelve hours of the time of holding a cattle show, military muster or public gathering, within one mile of the place thereof, practices or engages in any gambling or unlawful game, shall forfeit not more than twenty dollars. If discovered in the act, he may be arrested without a warrant by any sheriff, deputy sheriff, constable or any officer qualified to serve criminal process, and held in custody, in jail or otherwise, for not more than twenty-four hours, Sunday and legal holidays excepted, until a complaint may be made against him for such offence.

Now thats crime fighting baby!! Nothing says crime fighting like arresting some maggot who decides to defy the law and gamble less than 12 hours after his cattle show.

Enough with this crap. I'm a screw, I know I am a screw, I do not try to be a cop. I do not play ball and kick in and probably will be just a screw for the rest of my life because I will never kick in. I'm satisfied with the job I do, you fools on here defending your job and your cop like powers to pull people over give us a bad rap. And you cops that are on here cannot be legit either. Keep arguing back and forth it gets no where. The guy put up trees he spent 20 grand instead of 80 or 100 for a fence. Who cares I do not agree with half of what he does but who gives a ****. I'm worried about paying my bills and paying for gas. Theses topics get more useless everyday.

Well at least the man is environmentally minded. Instead of cutting down trees to build a fence - he plants them. Much better for the environment. They produce oyygen.
Hey Maggie,
Since you are in Essex county, maybe you folks can take Dipaola so we can get someone else.

This guy spent thousands of dollar to buy a mobile command operations unit. He has turned the sheriff's dept, which is only suppose to running the jails, and turning it in to his own separate police force, fully armed to the teeth. This is at a time when Malden PD is strapped for cash indealing with the crap we are all dealing with here. Maybe we can send all our scumbags up to North Andover, as well as opne up a few of these phony sober homes, which are nothing more than illegal roominghouses.
