It's not a miracle, training and good judgment. One topic I did take note of is how mainstream media attempted to correlate this to an event back in 2001...

And... it's not a water landing, it was a crash landing, the plane lacks any kind of pontoons to float.

That pilot deserves a raise. And a beer. And a vacation. Not involving a jet. Absolutely phenomenal job. My hat goes off to you Sir.

The pilots and crew are definitely the heroes with regard to getting the plane down safely and keeping the passengers calm. However, let's not forget about the ferry captains and crews who rushed to the aid of everyone on the plane. If people had to stay in the water longer than the few minutes that they did, there would've been some deaths for sure. Kudos to everyone!!

You're still spelling "obvious" wrong, "God" should be capitalized, and instead of "wouldn't of" you should have said "wouldn't have".

I heard one of the passengers say it was a miracle and they they "thanked God" for guiding the hands of the pilot. Sorry to be irreverent, but if God was involved, wouldn't it have been easier for him to simply move the geese by a few feet? Then the GEESE could have claimed it was a miracle :-)

You're kidding right? EVERYthing that happens has a reason. The lessons that will be learned from this incident will be innumerable. This is case even when there are deaths involved. New procedures are put in place, new safety equipment, etc.

Believing that even tragedies happen as part of God's plan is in no way meant to minimize the pain that is suffered. I just have to believe that something useful comes out of the pain.
