Why are some Terre Haute people obsessed with the police

Enlighten me a little someone. I'm not originally from here and have no beef with the local police but I've seen a few odd things here recently and all I keep hearing on the local news is the police this and the police that about every little thing and what a great job they are doing. It gets old. Is Terre Hautes system of government class feudalism with the police being at the top? Growing up I was under the impression to respect the cops because they protect people not because they are better than everyone. I get on these forums and most of the people are bad mouthing the police. Police should never RUN the town the should protect it. And I understand that you will always have some who complain about the police but not like this.So what's really going on here?

People like to complain.

People like to blame their problems on someone else.

People like to blame the government.

The police are an obvious symbol of the government.

Thus people complain about the police.

Sounds like the same poster with a different schtick.
The police don't "run" this town. In fact they are losing the battle with drug dealers, thugs, thieves, child molesters, drunken college kids and generic law breakers.

Would any of you gents happen to know of any other officers who eat balls?
I just got done shaving Freddys balls so he could relate to the officers a little more.
