Is it normal for sheriffs to drive to county cars ? I ask this because I know Mr. Compton has a truck with sheriffs plates and a car with the same plates . Someone let me know if I am missing something here .

It's legal. If you people spent more time worrying about yourselves instead of worrying about other people, you'd have a more peaceful life. Law enforcement officials are here to protect your sorry a**. Thank a cop when you see one. They risk their lives so you can come inside chat rooms and complain about them.

Would it be quite possible, to put restrictions on the amount of personal use and maybe lower our tax rate???

Yes, limits can be placed on how much law enforcement can use municipal vehicles. I have no problem with cops using city or county vehicles for personal use. They're on duty 24/7. I do take offense to other city employees using municipal vehicles for personal use. They're not out protecting the public. They're stealing from taxpayers.

I don't have a problem with take home cars either. Makes perfect sense to me.

LEO's are not technically on-duty 24/7. If they were, they be getting paid the whole time. They do, however, have 24/7 authority.

The problem in this specific situation is that one officer has two vehicles.

I think the point is that he has TWO vehicles that taxpayers pay for.

Yeah, that's a problem. Especially when one of them is being used for personal gain.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Taurus

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get. Now, although it will be very tempting to let off steam by giving someone an earful, aren't there better directions in which to channel your energy?
