‘Dark Knight’ Shooting To Be Exploited For Political Grist

This is terrible

Within hours of the tragic shooting in Aurora, Colorado at a screening of the new Batman movie, the political machine is already gearing up to exploit the incident as a tool to demonize the second amendment and characterize Americans who are against big government as extremists.

Gun control is not the cure for mental illness.
But the threat of gun control might cause people to act out,because of the rights they are losing and continue to lose,and it is possible,with gun control in place,a lot of people could be in killed,with the amount of guns in this country,no way to collect them all,no way,and then you just have a black market that the criminals now use,not to mention the guns that would flood in from other country's.Then we would have the war on guns,wonder if it would work,oh has the war on drugs worked,political threats that is all it is.

Even if they took guns away, like it was previously mentioned it would just make the issue bigger. People are stockpiling them now for when that day comes. People will find ways to hurt others no matter what the lawmakers attempt to do.

I'd like for some of you gun control folks to explain how disarming law abiding citizens makes society safer? If you want to see how effective gun control works, just look at Chicago. They've got some of the strictest gun control laws in the country & more weekend shootings than just about anywhere in the country.

The shooter in Aurora was a "law abiding citizen". Only contact with police...a speeding ticket. Just sayin.

The issue is not guns. The issue is what happened in the shooter's past to make him want to kill innocent people. He is a smart guy. If he didn't have access to guns he would have found some other way to do it; poison gas or fire come to mind.

Banning guns to stop spree killings is like shoving a cottonball up your butt because you found blood in your stool.

We seem to have developed a cultural fetish that when something goes wrong we try to punish all of society for the bad choices of a few. We have an estimated 406,000 people in Indiana alone with a license to carry a handgun and who knows how many more who lawfully own long guns. Taking their civil rights away will not solve anything.

Obama bypassed Congress to halt deportation and he bypassed Congress to provide massive amounts of aid to Palestine. Why is it so hard for some people to believe Obama is capable of restricting gun ownership? The THPD's solution to stopping gun crimes, is banning people from reproducing, and waiting for the problem to work itself out.

We don't like it when dissent is categorized as "protected speech" even if some of you making arguments against gun control do have logic in your corner. We think that logic is for idiots anyway.

The coverage of this event was just horrible. As much as we enjoy people suffering.. it sucked.

Why focus on taking away the rights of law abiding gun owners?

We have a shooter who everyone seems to agree killed innocent people in cold blood. We will make sure that he gets his right to an attorney, his right to a fair trial and his right to avoid cruel and unusual punishment.(Rights that he clearly denied his victims.)

Why is it more important to respect the rights of a murderer but it is ok to take away the rights of all of the law abiding gun owners who didn't go on a shooting spree?
