Can't say many folks would rush out and be first in line to volunteer to have a county dump placed next to their property.

Good 'heads up' on this one, thanks.

Is there any map online showing exactly where these substations and transmission lines are to be located, or a way to create one using google earth showing the existing substations, proposed substations, and likely route of the lines..... and link to it?

The point being that most people view something like this as being rather esoteric, and only comprehendable when its mapped out in black and white for them. The agencies doing the developing know this, so by the time a map usually appears the time for public comment is far gone, and the project's course a pretty much done deal.

A map showing even a rough guestimate of where these proposed lines will run would serve to give nearby property owners a early wake up call to whats in store for them.

The Tehama County Board of Supervisors recently
approved the newly altered General Plan. There were
many committee meetings which did not permit public
input;limiting discussions to committee members
who seemed to be only repeating each other and the thoughts of the Planning Director and his hired
guns of the company paid $300,000 to draft the
document. The only recourse open is for any/all citizens who question government actions is to
form a coalition to raise awareness of the
proposed acitivity.
