Look out for motorcycle police giving tickets in Temple

I used to enjoy Temple. Now all I see are lots of people pulled over by police for speeding. Some people told me they were only a few miles over the speed limit. Especially beware of motorcycle cops on I-35 and elsewhere. It feels like the Gestapo are after us. It's taken the joy out of driving and living here.
I've saved about $150 for charities during the Christmas season. Now I'm going to hold onto it. I have not received any tickets. But the way these vultures are pulling everybody over I'll hold onto my money in case I need it. I heard tickets start at about $200. That's financial rape. At least be more reasonable.
There must be a better way to raise money for the town's coffers than ticket quotas.

I pride myself with over 35 years of safe driving I have only recieved 2 tickets. The 1st was in the 70's and yes I surely deserved it. I consider myself a good driver, I don't speed too much, I signal and pay attention. Yes I have avoided several accidents by other mistakes, by staying alert and slowing down quickly and steering clear. My 2nd ticket was in Temple from a Motorcycle Cop (Officer Abbel) when I turned off of I-35 onto the exit. The cop was right there in the split where you exit. Ticket was 59 in a 40. I attempted to explain that I need a little time to slow down (I swear my two rear wheels were still on I-35 when he radared me) Going 65MPH and turning onto a 40 needs a reasonable slow down. But no dice the cop replied something like "if an 18 wheeler can stop at ....ft/min so can you". There were two Motorcycle cops at the same location- each very busy. I honestly felt I did not deserve a ticket, I believe a slow down time should be allowed. You would not want to see people stomp on their brakes to make the speed limit in that short of distance. That could cause accidents. Took a defensive driver's course, no big deal,but I still feel cheated.

Hope for some commits

My husband n I were pulled over this past Friday night. When I asked officer Wolff why we were pulled over not only did he stutter n stammer over a reply but when he finally replied his answer was because my husband went too far into the intersection before stopping. I had a baseball bat (as a form of protection) in my vehicle because I do NOT feel safe in our community and my husband was arrested for possessing a deadly weapon. He was then transported to county jail. A little while later his charge was dropped to running a stop sign yet they refuse to allow us to see the video that the patrol car recorded. Sounds like the doughnuts n coffee must have run out for officer wolff n his other little buddies so they had nothing better to do than harass tax paying citizens. Here's a thought... Instead of harassing innocent people perhaps "temples finest" should do something about the gang population that is growing in our community. TEMPLE POLICE MAY BE AFRAID OF THESE SO CALLED GANG BANGERS BUT I FOR ONE AM NOT!

I am fortunate, I haven't had a ticket in over 25 years, but having said that, I cannot believe how wherever you go, there is a cop waiting to pull you over. I used to have an immense amount of respect for policemen, now I absolutely loathe them. I have more respect for the guy who scrapes gum off the floor at Wal-Mart than I do for a police officer, they are out to ruin lives. Can't make a single mistake, or they'll pull you over, and even find a reason to put you in jail. We need to stand UP for ourselves, instead of putting up with this nonsense. We all have voting power, lets start with voting whoever is in office out! Maybe the new officials will reign in the police.
