It appears Mr. Cornett has deleted his Myspace account. How on earth did the judge think he could enforce someone to keep up a voluntary networking account? Now, you so many choices (Facebook, etc) other then Myspace to network with you friends. Also, how can you curfew and adult?? They make it sound like Mr. Cornett is a kid when in fact he is an adult.

My post without the grammatical errors. It appears that Mr. Cornett has gone ahead and deleted his Myspace account. Go figure! How on earth did Judge Siracusa think he could enforce someone to keep up a voluntary net-working account? Nowdays, you have so many choices (Facebook, Classmates,Reunion) other then Myspace to network with your friends. Also, the curfew sentence made absolutely no sense, they(the judicial system) made it sound like Mr. Cornett is a just a kid, when in fact he is an adult.

Taking someone's life is something that should not be taken lightly. Just because a teen "is a good kid" doesn't mean they should get away with murder. That is, in a sense, what he did. It wasn't purposeful, however at his age he knew what he should have done. 75 minutes is more than enough time to call 911, could have done it anonymously....then prayed the 911 operators actually sent someone. Punishing the boy/man by having him dedicate the myspace page to the victim is a slap in the face to the victim's family. The fact that the myspace page has been deleted shows how arrogant the guy really is. If he was remorseful he would have followed orders, and blogged about how sorry he was to the family everyday.

I think the judge needs to be contacted...this would be a violation of his sentence.

This reminds me of another similar, although IMO, better punishment. The guy who killed the other driver had two choices: either serve a two-three year sentence for vehicular manslaughter, or write a check for $1 every day in the name of the victim for the next ten years, or something like that. The guy obviously chose the check writing part.

After a few months, he said he would rather do the jail time, as writing the checks every day tortured him by reminding him of the person whose life he had taken.

I thinkt he judge had the right intentions with trying to avoid sending the stupid teen to jail. Yes, he's 18 yrs old, but let's be real...just because you're an "adult" and can gamble or buy cigarettes, certainly doesn't make you a MATURE level headed adult. I think this man screwed up bigtime. Maybe he was scared? Doesn't make it right, he still took a life. But in THIS case, if the kid isn't keeping up his end of the deal, then yes he should go to jail!

I don't agree with sending every person who's convicted to jail. Maybe we should try rehabilitating these young adults instead of teaching these guys how to be better criminals.

Just my opinion of course!

Hurray for Judge Pat Siracusa. I haven't seen Ryan Cornett's Myspace page yet, but I will go and take a look at it. I just can't understand how anyone can keep going when they see someone laying in the street from an accident. I mean, it's just a normal reaction to stop and try to help. All my regards and prayers to Cynthia Gray and her family. God Bless you all. Lastly,I hope Ryan will be more compassionate the next time he comes across a situation like this. Good Luck to both families.

Other than being in jail on the anniversary of his death each year this is the stupidest thing I ever heard. Myspace??? Come one like him or any of his friends would take that serious and Im sure he already opened a different account with his real pics.

As part of his sentence, the teen's MySpace page is now dedicated completely to the victim in the case. No funny photos, no witty comments.

Just the victim's face and a written memorial. The myspace page is not under Ryan - but under Duke Gray may he RIP.

Duke Gray had an alcohol level of .27 and was going 77 MPH in a 45 MPH zone . He crashed his bike and suffered deadly head injury from his gas tank . Ryan came on the scene after he died . Ask for the police report . Don't believe the bull.Read TBOnline.com

What a horrible story. For someone who was present in the court room, your facts are totally wrong. Do your job correctly, Melanie, and write the truth!!

This is horrible. This MAN should be in prison for murder. He is not a boy. He knew what he was doing. My thoughts go out to the victoms family.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aries

It won't be long before you start to feel bored today, unless you can distract yourself - you're switching from one activity to another. Ideally, you should keep yourself amused by doing something that's unusual or challenging, otherwise you'll be tempted to stir up trouble just to see what happens next! Even though you know that's a bad idea, you won't be able to resist, unless you've got something better to do with your time.
