On his Fox News show, Sean Hannity misleadingly aired video from the 9-12 March on Washington while discussing Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-MN) much smaller November 5 anti-health care reform rally to claim that 20,000 - 45,000 plus people showed up to Bachmann's protest.

It's odd because there is a big difference between Hannity/Bachmann's numbers and the numbers put forth by the Washington Post which was maybe 10,000. I guess saying 20,000 - 45,000 sounds better than 10,000. According to MSNBC, "Three Capitol Hill police officers all guessed that the crowd numbered at about 4,000" in attendance for Bachmann's protest.

So the reliable sources like MSNBC and Washington Post estimate 4,000 - 10,000 and the made-up numbers are 20,000 - 45,000 which makes for a 10X inflation of the crowd numbers. How do you make people believe your numbers? Use video... old video with more people because no one would notice. Right!

But thank God, we have the "news media" to catch and document the patent lies that were put forth by Sean Hannity and Michele Bachman.

Hannity used video from Glenn Beck's 9-12 rallies and used them to inflate the number of participants. Who catches it? Jon Stewart and The Daily Show.

It's not really about the math. It's about using false information to advance a particular point-of-view. This is an example of Fox News deceptively using video and photos to advance a false or misleading story line.

Thanks to Comedy Central and the Daily Show staff for catching this lie.

P.S. Hannity issued an apology to the audience for his "mistake".

And this is a surprise, coming from Fox "News?" I guess Hannity gets a pass because he's not a journalist and his show is not news but opinion, as are most Fox "News" shows. It's all targeted to the lowest common denominator because that's what delivers bigger ratings. Make no mistake: they don't serve the public. Their job is to deliver as many eyeballs to advertisers (their real custoomers) as possible and they don't care how they do it.

Well, accurate reporting would be nice.

Civic discourse in a constructive manner would be nice. No more "us vs. them."

Compromises in politics would be nice. Nobody ever gets everything they want.

Peace and prosperity would be super. No on socialism, but not unfettered capitalism with no oversight, either. I think we learned a lot during this recession of the consequences.

Responsible health reform. Again, not socialized or government healthcare, but something more fair and affordable. And this is going to have to be a compromise on everybody's part, because there's no way everyone is going to be happy with however it turns out.

One of the things I learned in civics class long ago was that democracy is messy, but we wouldn't want it any other way.

We didn't get to be the greatest country in the world by not adapting to change.

Let's see..Hannity acknowledges and apologizes for using the wrong footage on his clearly acknowledged commentary show, the day after Jon Stewart catches it. How soon will we see Dan Rather's apology for the fake Bush National Guard story on "60 Minutes" in 2004? He clung to it for two weeks, and only gave a grudging apology when forced to do so and the entire nation was laughing at him and CBS. And he said it was "fake but accurate." So CBS is "real news" and "not biased?"

The thing is what Rather was reporting was true he just didn`t have the original documents. It is no secret the POS was AWOL and the only reason he didn`t have to pay for it was he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

More bullcrap from a bubba. I didn't care for Bush either, but Danny Boy Rather was and is a fricken LIAR. No wonder a stooge like you admires him. Birds of a feather flock together. In your and Danny's case, Dodo birds.

Hussein Obama is your Messiah, remember. I didn't care for Bush, but for different reasons than you. I was and am against these wars. Now why the hell hasn't your man Hussein Obama brought our troops home. He's too damn busy running all over the freaking world selling this nation out. Our troops continue to die over there while this boob fiddles.

Hell gomer, our troops are being killed right here on that guys watch.

The same globalists that Bush served to start these wars are the same globalists that Obama serves. These wars will be going on all during the Hussein Obama regime, Bank on it.

dude, youve got issues that need to be helped by a therapist. Keep name calling and losing credibility. This country was bankrupted by an idiotic republican president who ruled with stupidity.
