But I guess in your mind it is ok for kids to walk in traffic...until one gets hit by a vehicle then you'll be saying the cops don't do their jobs. Damned if they do damned if they don't. Yes, jaywalking can be dangerous, but LIKE I SAID, these kids were WALKING TO SCHOOL not participaing in a drive-by!) and if the police want to do a real service to the community and save some lives they would have asked the principal to call a school assembly to educate the kids or send out fliers to educate these minors! Please, these are kids trying to do the right thing by attending school...perhaps they need to be educated about the law...we'd all like the police a lot more if they did their public service jobs...ones that i help pay for

One reason there are a few bad ones here in Temecula, is because, the Riverside County Sheriff contracts with the city to deploy officers in the city of Temecula.
Riverside County Sheriff has be in the spotlight many times for misconduct.
Temecula needs thier own police force.
Riverside County Sheriff is like the brotherhood....

Good Citizen....that is insightful. Like Hemet PD or any other city run PD is better? If we run down a list of bad incidents, the numbers will be similar between city run PD's and the sheriff. Maybe even more on the city side would be my guess.
By the way...how is your town of Hemet going to close that $5.5 million budget gap this next year? Maybe cutting out some of all that high level brass at the PD would be a start.

NO POLICE IN TEMECULA

Temecula does not have a real police dept., but it is an annual agreement with the Sherrif's Dept. This city is in need of citizens who participate and demand our city counsel to create a police dept. of our own.

There is no such thing as the Temecula Police, they are Riverside County Sheriffs. It is a ploy created by the Temecula City Council to make you think we have a Police Department. Basically they are just a bunch of uneducated, out of shape, power trippers who only enforce the laws they choose to. Pretty sad!

Well lets be a REALIST,(Realist)
If you want to talk about other law enforcement agencies, and do they have corruption, yes they do. The topic is misconduct with the Temecula Police, or should I say, Riverside County Sheriff. I just wonder why there are so many people that have the same opinion about this problem, I think were all a bunch of criminals, right? Until you experience the discrepancies, you are in title, just like me, but it is apparent that there is a real problem with the criteria, from the public. Don't hate the player, Hate the Game!

Ex Cop says it all,(The brotherhood, plays together, stays together) Not all police are bad, just read the headline, or the ones they can't hide. It explains it all. What a shame we have to worry about the bad seeds, but as they say, the bad one don't fall far from the source. Peace baby excop wrote: To, cops win again, It's easy to say you would rather go outside until you really have to do it. Talk is cheap until you have to put your life on the line. To, Good citizen, what did you "not do" to have such a bad view of the police. I'll bet it's a long story about you being "just another victim" until ALL of the details are brought to the surface. Move to Iraq and try it for awhile. Maybe then you will appreciate the police here. To Bess, Thank you.

My son and his friends have been treated very badly by cops on several occasions, while walking to their car from school! A short cop with an attitude. What a suprise. This type of behavior in a dirt town city police department always comes from the leadership down. As far as the excop comments, it is simple, either they act as professionals or they don't. I watch the courts. The Riverside county DA is attempting to crucify people in order to get his 97% concictions rate so he can run for CA attorney general. I would never move to Riverside county again.

Were are not talking about cops putting there life on the line when they are hastling kids. This behavior seems to be systemic in Temecula and Murrieta police.

He accused my son (who was skateboarding by a park) of throwing a glaas pipe into the bushes...he searched him, found nothing because he had nothing and never did! Then told him he would be beat up in juvie! He gives tickets for nothing (accused my son of rolling through a stop sign) He has searched him on numerous occasions. Why is he picking on a pretty decent 18 year old (who is home bycurfew every night)when there are gangs and horrible things going on out there? This cop just hangs around looking for trouble when it isn't there because it's easier to do.Anyone else have a problem with this guy? I'm starting to document things and am looking for other victims. In response to your comments, I have one better than that, the Temecula Police have pulled over my son over 40 times, given him 17 citations, beat him up 3 separate times for no reason, and I had complained and no one ever did anything about it, they also held a gun to his head, he was just walking thru a parking lot, not bothering anyone, they are way over the top, something needs to be done before people get killed here, young people, teens between 14-18 are harassed every day, and hopefully they wont be murdered by the police. The Police here in Temecula are not here to protect and serve, they are to busy giving out tickets and harassing young people, It looks like equal opportunity Harassment. GOOD LUCK and GOD BE WITH YOU.

Jonny5, How did your son fair in court on all those tickets? Sounds like he is a habitual traffic offender and has a suspended license.

he did well in court, tickets dismissed, still has license and per the Police he is still cop bait, they told me they don't give traffic warnings (no money in that)only tickets. His last ticket was for obstruction on rear view mirror, so we removed the rosary and had ticket signed off at CHP, The previous ticket was for tinted windows, he didn't have tinted windows, also cleared by CHP. The one that concerns me now is when they searched his car, broke his 140 CD's and no Ticket?

Ya your back, they are Gay! Cop love KMA! excops x wrote: To cops win again: Maybe you should get a job as a cop and then you can put your money where your mouth is. See what the job really entails then maybe you won't be so quick to judge. Oh and while you are checking out the noise in your own back yard and you find yourself face to face with that career criminal who has a weapon and will not hesitate to take a life because you got in their way just remember...if you harm them you will be tied up in court for a good portion of your life and possibly in jail while they are released back into society and possibly living in your house they won in the lawsuit. To Good citizen: With the recent news of 3 major organized gangs in the Temecula/Murrieta area I'd say you should be more concerned that there aren't enough cops to slow the ever growing crime rate and to deter the gangs from taking over and turning "perfect little Temecula" into another L.A. Yeah, you're right....you better watch your back.....
