Tehuacana woman spent two hours 'in hell' after being beaten and raped

I am glad they caught those animals and got them off the streets. Hopefully payback will also be painful for them while in jail or prison.

So she was out late at night, making herself a target, talking to sleazy men she didn't even know on the street.
"She told investigators she was driving west on State Highway 171 at about 2:30 a.m."
This story doesn't tell a lot , but read between the lines. Sounds like she and her friends closed down the bars. I guess she was drunk, although the story doesn't say.
I don't know how many times I have to read the same thing: Foolish girl goes out and gets drunk in a bar and runs into big trouble.
Moral: Ladies, don't go out drinking and partying--it's not good for you physically and you put yourself in real bad company. You can get badly hurt, as this woman was.

So let me tell you a little about small town Texas- since i work in the town this happened - I think I know...... small towns in Texas do not have "bars" the young women at this age can go to.... in small towns the kids sometimes hang at on the squares OR places like the video store. Some of the kids work at night at the local sonic or walmart... So they are not sleazzin around - In small town Texas - we know everybody & everybody knows you - either by name or face or both - To expect something like this to happen to one of us seems impossible- I don't know where you are from..... But i hope that you don't have a daughter !!! We're not taught the everyone is your enemy - we wave at everyone & still hold the door open for our elders.... & call our neighbors our friends! just because some illegals drugged up & crazy happened into our town & did this god awful crime - does not mean that our children are bar hoppin hoes...... don't even go there!!!!!!!!!!

Americans have lost all their morals and values. Respectable young women are not closing down the bars and out at 2:30 a.m. Bar tramps and promiscuous women who are looking for sex and trouble are.

But she didn't deserve to get raped and stabbed. I didn't say that. But she put her self in harms way by being out with the crazies at the witching hour. That's why I said her mother obviously never taught her how to be safe. Parents are supposed to teach their children how to stay safe. But parents today can't do that since they are too drugged up and drunk to teach anyone anything. You Americans are a drowning people. You just can't grasp the fact that you parents are leading your children towards their early doom by example of your behavior.

I'll tell you what happens in small town America at 2:30 a.m...my kids are in high school in a small town not far from where this happened...my kids have friends over until 2 and 3 a.m.—sometimes even later—playing video games and glow in the dark volleyball in my backyard—AT MY HOUSE—with me right there supervising. They have fun and hang out with their friends—SOBER! No sex and no drugs involved. If one of my childrens' friends left my house and this happened to her on the way home, I would be mortified and blame myself, not them!

If you and your children are entertaining friends until 3 a.m. as you say, and you see nothing wrong with that, then something is very wrong. Like I say....parents in America are a disgrace and you by not even recognizing your tolerance and encouragement of late night, early morning partying, are teaching your children bad habits that will increase the likelihood of them being hurt one day too. I hope the poor woman who was hurt by the two criminals isn't reading this sad column, and listening to the comments of those deranged women who says its OK for you to be out at 2:30 a.m., they are wrong.

I am so sorry that you were hurt and I know you must feel very angry. I understand your feeling since I too am a victim of violent crime. From my bad experience I learned some lessons that I would like to share with you and it may help you to stay safe in the future.

1) Don't think the police can keep u safe--they can not. All they can do is pick up the pieces and maybe catch the bad guy, after you are already hurt. Your safety is something you have to take responsibility for.

2) Don't go out late at night, and especially by yourself. Try to be in your house by 10 p.m. latest and stay there. If you have to stay up late, watch movies or do things at home. At night is when the crazies come out, drinking and drugging.

3) Don't drink alcohol or do drugs. Stay away from people who do. Drinking and drugging is one of the easiest ways to get hurt since your good judgment is affected and you do things you normally wouldn't. Also the people u hang with have similarly bad judgment. And there are some bad, bad people out there on drugs.

4) If I was a young woman I would try to go out in the company of a friend as much as possible. Two people together are safer than one alone. Too many bad guys all hyped up on drugs and porn are out there looking for victims. Girls are disapearing every day sad to say, check out all the "Missing children" and "missing adults" site.

5) Carry a legal weapon like a folding knife with a non slip grip and practice using it. If someone is trying to hurt you, don't be afraid to use it. Try to go for their eyes if you can since that will disable them and then run like heck.

6) carry a cell phone with 911 pre set

7_) aways lock your car doors. Always

8) try to stay away from bad parts of town.

9) dont argue with people, especially people you dont know. let them be right, its OK. If someone cuts in line or cuts you off on the road, dont react angrily or give them the finger. The meek shall inherit the earth.

10) Don't sexually tease men, ever, but especially if they have been drinking.

11) Don't dress provocatively, with middie shirts, no bra, etc. Dress conservatively and modestly.

12) Don't pick up hitchhikers or don't let people into your house to call for help. Let them stay outside and you call for them.

This is all I can think of now. I hope you can recover from what happened to you. I'd try to follow this advice since it will help keep you safe. I pay you can recover from your bad experience. If you can learn from the experience then at least you can take something positive away from it, although I know it will be hard. God bless you.

This is exactly what I do with these kids and yet I'm wrong...these kids are not partying in the sense that you use it. These kids are hanging out away from the bad neighborhoods and bad people that you yourself advise them to stay away from and yet it's wrong to do this? They are being kids in a safe environment.

If I am deranged in thinking that the victim of a crime is blameless for being attacked then I am proud to say I am deranged!

And, if I am deranged for providing a safe environment where my children and their friends can hang out anytime they want to then I am proud to be deranged!
