Re: 5/21/08 Portfolio 'Cartoon' and Polygamists Next:

Shame on the Daily News for repeatedly publishing ridiculous diatribes against gay marriage - they are all basically the same. Nobody is asking for legalization of polygamy, incest, or any of the other 'straw men' created by these bigots, and if anyone did ask, it would have nothing to do with the issue of gay marriage. If this nonsense is coming from the televangelists, maybe it is time to eliminate their tax exemption. Re: the cartoon, please tell me where in the recent California Supreme Court decision there is any language impairing the existing marriage laws. Answer - there isn't any - whoever decided to publish this cartoon should be called to explain what they were thinking. There has been no blow of any kind by the court decision against traditional marriage. About 50% of them deteriorate on their own with no help from the judiciary.

Bush Goes Fiscal Finally?

Bush has  run the National debt from zero to 5 trillion with his "spend and charge it" fiscal policy. He has enriiched corporations like Halliburton and Blackwater to shameful levels. He has given tax breaks to the rich. Now he has the audacity to invoke "fiscal responsibility" as a reason to veto the Farm Bill? Reportedly the bill is aimed mostly to provide relief to feed the hungry. Who does he think he is fooling? If it was really aimed to benefit the wealthy as he claims, he would have signed it without blinking an eye. In the meantime, while he has been in office, the percent of Americans living under the poverty level has doubled, gas prices have more than doubled, food prices are increasing at an alarming rate, and families are losing their homes in record numbers, Who is going to explain to this certifiable moron that it is time to start paying for the financial disaster he created?
