You are right in a lot of respects, but I am coming from the belief that rights and liberties should be extended to every citizen. If we are going to say we believe in liberty and justice for all, then it would serve us well to live by it. No law abiding citizen or group needs to be denied of any liberty extended to any others

Some of the people in this country seem to suffer from mass amnesia. Most of the deficit was in place before Obama took office. What? What do you mean? How can that be! Vote republican! Save the country! You mean like Bush saved the country? Like Nixon and Reagan saved the country? Just what the hell is this country being saved from? Your neighbor down the road voting for the candidate of his choice?

Silver is all in favor of the will of the majority.uhhh...didn't a majority of people vote for OBAMA? Well them nasty dems just cheated.Like they did when JFK bought the election? From Nixon? THE ONLY PRESIDENT EVER TO BE SUCCESSFULLY IMPEACHED??? TALK about living in a dream world.THE more times a democratic president is elected the more the republicans vilify and hate him.Like FDR! LISTEN to them talk about that man. You'd think they were talking about Satan.Gosh he sure got elected a bunch of times though! Guess everybody didn't hate him.

Noticed where ABC had to retract the statement because it was not true. I understand this couldn't be just conincental the mainstream media would be so hideous to use such a tragedy to make a biased political statement.
You mean like when Fox news reported the Norway massacre was of Muslims?

If I recall correctly, Fox was downplaying his "conservative ties" explaining that it was "the other kind of conservative," whatever that means.

If the movie goers had been armed, they could have dropped him soon after his first shot. When seconds count, the police are minutes away or in some cases even hours away.

He was the sort obsessed with the idea of Muslims immigrating. Kind of like the average tea party guy. Birthers. Those who call Obama a Muslim. Like Silver.

Businesses can demand what they wish. You have the freedom to go their or not.
Imagine people toting guns into theaters on a regular basis. I know fights sometimes break out in theaters. Imagine if a gun is involved.

I am attempting to have a serious debate about referendums and their power. I informed Silver that neither the US Constitution nor The Declaration Of Independence was passed by a referendum, and the Constitution establishes all rights and liberties.....and this is the response that I get. Do you really want to accuse others of no substance? You really can't debate these people. I think they probably really know most of the answers, but don't wish to be defeated in a debate and use this avoidance tactic.
Hey half breed. Sorry it is late, but the wife and I were out on the boat all day.

Yes AZ, I agree. The Constitution and Declaration of Independence were not actually put to referendum. They were brought to frutition by the colonies, through their representatives of the people by the people. And I agree, the Constitution establishes rights and liberties.

Being gay is not a right. It is personal choice made by an individual. Show me, in the constitution, any amendment that governs freedom of choice. I know you want to tie it in to the 14th Amendment, but you are not a lawyer, you are not the Supreme Court of the United States and that is soley your opinion.

Mike made a point about majority rule earlier and if you didn't like it, tough. Again, the majority of North Carolinians, through referendum voted against legalized same sex marriage in North Carolina. These people were people you and I elected into office. They are our representatives of the people by the people for the people. Their wisdom felt it was in the best interest of North Carolina, for North Carolinians to govern themselves on the matter. Majority ruled and you don't agree or like it. Well, like Mike said, tough.

I know you have an axe to grind with me because I am open about my racism to your kin folk and I hold no bones about being in favor of segregation. We don't have to get along and we don't have to be friends. You have stated your opinion and I have stated mine. I do not expect you to be aligned with Republican points of views because you are open about being a Democrat. I do not expect you to cheer for my team. I hope you do not think for a second, in that tiny little head of yours, Republicans would cheer for yours. Why would you entertain that notion? Foolish idea. Democrats have this notion of wanting to save everyone and will try to do damage control on the Titanic, knowing that ship is going to sink, they will try anyways. And for what? Republicans know you can't save everyone. Our 64 dollar question is who we save?

I have made those kinds of choices before of who lives and who dies and it is not an easy one to make. My wife can atest to the difficulty. But I am not running for office, so that is someone else's cross to bear. Again, you have a responsibility to help yourself first then help those that are helping themselves, afterwards.

I gave you too much credit AZ. I felt you had the ability to reasonable deduct that the constitution and declaration of independence was not actually put to referendum by todays standards. But, nonetheless, you prove why the slaves should of been left in Africa from start with your rhetoric of being the victim. You have never gone without and I question whether you actually worked for the Kennedy political affiliation or if you were trying to draw sympathy on the forum.

As usual, you haven't proved or disproved anything. Good luck in November.

Don't hate me, hate your parents for lack of impulse control and their failure to utilize birth control.
