This gym sucks.

I like the walk track. In the winter when it's cold it's a good place to work out. Only alot of thugh headed GPDs workout there wich is why I quit my membership.

I've been going to Coops in Anderson for almost a year. Recently, I learned that a credit agency is harassing my parents (Coops had their number as an emergency contact) over gym dues. The agency had the wrong pronunciation of the last name, so my parents had no idea what they were talking about. I happened to talk to my mom and we discovered that this was linked to me. I have prepaid for ALL of my services at Coops and Coop's has my bank account information to pull funds out of my account if needed. Coop's NEVER called, NEVER sent a letter, NEVER sent a bill, and NEVER let me know at the gym that their records showed something wasn't right with my account. Instead, they went straight to a credit agency on FALSE claims and placed a derogatory charge on my credit. When I informed management at Coops of this I NEVER heard apologetic words; instead, they said they would look into this further later in the week. This is serious, especially since I'm seeking financing for a home in the next couple of months. If not resolved in a prompt manner, this will be the difference of a couple of points on an interest rate, which will mean thousands of dollars more on my part.

I also have been going to Coops Health and Fitness and I am totally unsatisfied with the way they have handled my account. The only disheartening thing is that I cannot canel my membership with them. I got tanninng as part of my package. I tan only 3 months out of the year. Now that I do not need to tan I still have to pay for it and cannot get my monthly payments lowered! Ridiculous! This is the worst customer service I have seen in a long time!

I agree with TrulyBeware. They don't handle your account like a good company should. They obviously could care less about their customer's financial situations. The fact that all the contract stuff is handled with another company is kind of sketchy. I had no idea that if you had any concerns with your contract, it had to be handled on the phone with this ABC company and the employees at Coop's apparantly have no control over it. You have to go through hell to cancel your contract. I never did because it required hours on hold and lies that I didn't feel comfortable telling. I basically just threw $500 in the trash. It sucks. So think twice before signing the contract.
