What do you think Taylor needs to bring businesses to the area? I drive through and see closed down car lots, empty stores and lots where buildings used to stand. I know the economy is bad but lets say it start to turn around what does Taylor need done to bring the city back ?

I don't think you can really make it nice, it's more a pseudo highway town than anything. Those kind of places always seem to get bigger, close down, repeat, repeat.

That is true... other then stopping to see family I just use Telegraph to get from point A to Point B. It's just a shame to see it happening. One Idea I did have was a drive inn theater you don't see them anywhere and people might come to Taylor just to visit a bit of the past. This brings some jobs and money to the city.

That's an idea. It would certainly help to put a business as a focal point bringing you there. They'd really have to strongly enforce a family theme with the nearby ghettos, otherwise it wouldn't last to long.
In my last drive through Taylor I noticed 3 businesses recently closed in a 4 block area. Though it looked like one was becoming something else.
.... now I want a drive in.

Family theme would definitely have to be enforced some times the public has to step up and help with that... you can't always depend on local law enforcement. The 4th block area ?

Or was you question about law enforcement and the public ? I just meant they can't be everywhere and they need some help. Like Neighborhood Watches being a Mentor to some kids, volunteering to help your community when you can just things like that.
Sorry about the typo's in my last message.

No, I understood the first part of the post, not the 4th block area part.
Yes the neighborhood watch type things would be helpful. Depending on where you live, a neighborhood watch is only as good as the police that you end up calling. Since all the fun things the watch could do are more in that...vigilante gray area.
I think they should focus too, on city beautification, If I could open a business in a very bland with neglected spots town, or one that focuses on their parks more, and garden planters, etc.. I'd choose the latter.

I think it all comes down to the people that live in your city, they need to take pride in where they live. You wouldn't trash your home and that's pretty much what your city is. I was listening to the radio and a topic came up about City Olympics so I thought what if they divided the city into 4 equal parts and every summer had City Olympics ? That would bring the people together, you would meet people you never would have before who knows what could come of that. Neighbor helping Neighbor.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Aries

In recent weeks you've been quite concerned about a loved one, and things are likely to come to a head as Mercury turns in your mid-heaven. You may be able to solve the problem simply, which will be a relief all round, but there's a chance that you may have to do some serious thinking or get some expert advice before you know exactly what your next step should be. You may have to take official action of some kind.
