Officers wona t be charged; Briggs faces misdemeanors

The first problem with this story is, "Two Cops in a Bar." These same two cops are or have probably arrested drunk drivers coming out of this very same bar. They may have ruined some good peoples lives; ordinary folks who work their ass off, and stop to have a few beers before going home to see the wife and kids. Next thing ya know, the father owes 7 grand to lawyers, the State, and piss tests. He starts missing work because of appointments. His wife leaves him. He kills himself. It is happening more than you know. These two cops should be suspended until they determine how many folks they busted out of Barnacle Bills, and if they have, fired.(If they were drinking.)

2 cops in a bar hmmm. Cops can drink and get away with it. What the h*** is the world coming too?

Someday, folks will get tired of Cops having their way, all the time. Like spending billions of 9/11 money to sit in front of bars all over the country messing with normal decent hardworking folks. It will come back to haunt you I promise. There is a case of a cop in Standish who sat out in front of the "Corner Bar" and arrested dozens of folks for dui. Then one day the A-hole comes in to drink. He damn near got beat to death, and is no longer a cop. You guys are so self important that you actually think you can walk into a bar that you bust folks out of. Shame on you. Now, lets analyze this. An unarmed woman, attacks two cops in a bar, is found guilty but the two cops are not charged. Just let that stew for a while and I will come back. Smells bad.

According to Leslie, the TPA board - which is made up of two members from each of the two cities which fund the organization, East Tawas and Tawas City - met Thursday to discuss the status of the officers.

“We talked about it the other day at our meeting and said, if they were cleared, we would put them back to work,” Leslie said.

He added that the letter written by Schultz arrived the following day and the officers were put back to work.

According to police reports, Briggs allegedly started the altercation in Barnacle Bill’s Bar by striking both Walsh and Frank. After being kicked and punched several times, Frank reportedly told her to stop. She allegedly hit him again and he pushed her. She fell and hit her head on the foot rail of the bar, sustaining three broken lumbar vertebrae, as well as a central disk herniation.

Following the incident, Briggs and Frank each called for assault charges to be brought against the other.

Rivard was assigned to investigate as a disinterested party and Schultz was appointed by the Michigan Attorney General for the same reason. This was requested by three local officials to remove any suspicion of bias: Tawas Police Chief Dennis Frank, East Tawas MSP Post Commander Lt. Robert Lesneski and Iosco County Prosecutor Gary Rapp.

Now, this is the rich part about this article: The two Police Officers broke the neck of an unarmed female and were not charged. Hmm, really stinks now, don't it?

Their day is coming. I would love to see Obama start a tip line to report corrupt cops and government officials. man their sure would be a lot of job openings for HONEST HARDWORKING PEOPLE.

Yea, I broke an unarmed womans neck while I was drinking in a bar on Terrorism funds. I am the man.

that sounds like the great howie hanft sheriff of ogemaw county back in his day as w/b city cop.

Everyone hates cops until they need one! Every profession has a % of people who do the wrong thing. It is the person, not the position. It doesn't matter if the person was a cop or a checkout attendant...they would break the rules as a cop and steal at the checkout!!!

Listen. You all sit here and judge but none of you know the woman or the officers involved in this inccident. I happen to know one of the officers. He is a good person. Loves his kids and family and his community. Why is it so hard for people to think that just because they are "police officers" that they are not entiled to a life that the rest of us are? They may want to go to the bar after work like anyone else. That woman had no right to strike either of them. I find the only people who complain about the police are the ones who choose to do wrong. Sending messages on here to help create a bad persona about these officers is the only way you can hurt them and there families. You should be ashamed of your selves. Next time your in need of an officer to help you. I hope these are the officers that are sent to you. You might have a different view of them when they are the ones who are aiding you in a time of crisis. God bless you all for some of you really need it.
