Pols ready to go all in on new casino

Full story: Boston Herald

"We're not going to be stepped on again," said state Rep. Robert Koczera , who called southeastern Massachusetts "a forgotten region of the state" and decried a likely delay in job creation if the tribe's casino plans get held up in the federal bureaucracy.

A casino wil provide a few jobs at the casino, but will remove jobs from every other business in the area.
Restaurants in town(s) will lose revenue/employees.
Every other business will lose revenue/employees due to the increase of disposable income being spent at the casino.

The only real winner will be the casino and those who benefit directly from casino proceeds.

We need (& deserve) a casino here in New Bedford! The jobs will help those who need them & why should we deprive the city of money to be made? It's not fair to us (New Bedford residents) to have everyone going to another state or area to spend their money. Why not make it HERE??? People are traveling to Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun (or anywhere else) & other areas blowing their money, we should be spending it HERE in our own city. People against it usually complain "it'll bring more crime" ... we already have crime! Why not at least offer jobs to people who need them & make money here rather than somewhere else.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Scorpio

You're in a very romantic and sentimental state today. You're also feeling quite sensitive and vulnerable, so you won't want to be around anyone you find abrasive or aggressive. If you meet someone for the first time now you'll think they're wonderful and your relationship will always involve putting them on a pedestal. But don't be too idealistic. They are human, remember!
