When are people going to learn that running form the police doesn't solve anything? At least this idiot isn't going to waste any more taxpayer money. I hope the people in the other vehicle are ok...

Guys - this was a person! He mattered to someone.

You might or might not be criminals, but your remarks make you sound as idiotic as you seem to regard the driver. Grow up.

I'll probably never understand why people think killing themselves is better than standing before our soft judicial system. Then again, who cares?

Really? That's the state of humanity in this city? Of course it's all kinds of wrong to flee the police in a stolen car, but he killed himself! Ya'll don't feel the loss of a human life, you praise his death? Of course he did wrong, and I would hope he would have gone to jail to think about it for a long time, but to be glad he died???

Sadly, due to his apparent behavior, he did not think that anyone else matters. He behaved the way he did with his girlfriend. It is fine to think well of the whole of our species but there are some individuals that do not deserve such kindness.

Absolutely, had he not shot himself he could have sued the police for using excessive force.

it's a sad thing when the value of life, is amounted to be less then taxpayers dollars. Sad - when a life lost is celebrated reguardless. Then we wonder why our country is at the state it is, because as long as taxpayers dollars are not being affect it is fine, and no one cares.....

While I am thankful nobody else was killed, it is truly sad that he felt his only way out was to kill himself. There may be more to the story - why would you kill yourself over a stolen car and police chase, which would probably not get you much time in prison the way plea bargains are going today? Maybe there were warrants for other charges ...

He didn't matter enough to himself, nor did he care enough about others. I say, good riddance.

I want to know the results of any toxicology reports. I would like to think that no one in his right mind would behave that way.

I feel really bad for his girlfriend. Being unwillingly put through a high-speed chase, an automobile accident, and watching a loved one blow their brains out right before your eyes is more trauma than most have to suffer in a lifetime. And she was only 18. Just...WOW!

The Star doesn't mention race here either just a car race that's all. I guess if there from Kentucky we automatically assume these people are all white toothless hilljacks with blue overalls on. I'm glad Uncle Jessie wasn't in the truck with them.
Race is NOT an issue here, the suspect was still at the scene of the crime and did not have to be described to police. Not everthing is about race, those who think it is are just stirring up things.

Okay, the 23 year old guy "may" have stolen a car OR may had been driving a car stolen by someone else in the car. But does it really make a difference? A car theft is not worth risking other's lives to escape being caught, but more importantly, the consequences of having stolen a car would never have been as permanent as death. People make mistakes. This man possibly stole a car, in possession of stolen property, using a handgun, speeding, wreckless driving, wreckless endangerment and confinement of the others in the car, etc. Unfortunately, law makers have ran amuck writing "easy" bills for new/additional laws to punish that no one can really argue with, but know they are overkill. It is sad for the family of this man.

people's lives have been irrevocably changed in one desperate night.

thinking of the couple in the truck - hope this doesn't cause them too much trauma, emotionally and physically.

or that 18 year old girlfriend. how terrifying for her. what she saw. what she was probably unwillingly put through. she will be forever changed by this.

i do not know jody. but he was once someone's child.

If it was one of my family members, I'd first think about what a loser this family member is for doing something as selfish/weak as killing him/herself. Then I'd be angry at this person for not coming to me, or other friend and/or family member, for help. I wouldn't pity the fool. I'd pity the people closest to him/her. If they were closest to me, I'd be sad ultimately, but - like most grief - that's for me, not for the person.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Pisces

The last thing you want to do is to picking over every little thing. Instead, you have one eye permanently on the clock and you're trying to cram as many activities into the day as possible. This will be good fun and you'll enjoy keeping up the momentum, but beware of a possible tendency to become reckless or to try to cut corners in order to save time, because this will be self-defeating in the long run.
