Tarkio Renewal

These people that are involved in this so called organization are nothing but a bunch of so called HIGH SOCIETY SNOTS that have nothing better to do with the time of day than run around making trouble in the town. I think they all need to get jobs and leave the people in this town alone. Now they are going to the council and telling the council how to run the town, I think that if they tear down a house they should have to put something back in it's place, NOT leave them empty, unmowed and then if they are mowed the clippings left out in the street, a sore eye and also against the city laws. Keep your fat noses out of the towns peoples lives and find something else to do with your time, once again. Everyone in this town pays taxes and should be able to have anything they want on the property. BACK OFF none of you are any better than the rest of us that live here, you only think you are. Think maybe we should rename this town Snotville. And people wonder why nothing will come in this town and the kids all move away after High School,they don't want to live in HELL, that's why.

ya, I don't know who these people think they are but what gives them the authority to make me move my truck? IF YOU DONT LIKE IT THERE, DON'T LOOK!! I own and pay the taxes on my home and will park where the hell I want to, IN MY GRASS if I so choose! They go around to good taxpaying citizens begging for your house to level and sell the lots and it's wrong! Don't give them ANYTHING! we've gone to being a ghost town!! The reason people leave here or do not move here is NOT because of old houses, It's because there is NOTHING here!! OPEN a business to bring people here and you would have less time to cause TAXPAYERS problems!

I have been in this town from birth. That gives me the rights to say the comment that I did. What gives you the rights to tell a native or anyone else to move? You have no rights to tell anyone to move. This town has been broke for years because of the people that think they own the town. I understand wanting the town to look nice and all but I think peoples rights are being infringed upon. I pay taxes for the property I live on and think it's a bunch of crap that the socialites and the old farts society can tell me what I can and can't have on my property. These people also being the same ones that have turned down businesses wanting to move into the area. Maybe the guy down the street can't afford a new car and has to park a parts car in his yard while he fixes the old one. Maybe he just wants to restore a vehicle. Whatever the case may be it should be his choice... As far as lawn mowing, I have seen more Tarkio Renewal lots with overgrown grass, do they get harassed about it? Bottom line is... Why should a bunch of uppity do-gooders decide what I can or can't do on MY property...

TARKIO RENEWAL NEEDS TO MIND THEIR OWN DAMN BUSINESS! It is none of their business what other people do and it needs to STOP NOW! they have NO rights telling people what they can and can't do!! To hell with them! I will license my old Dodge thru my brother in NE and park it on main street! ALL leagal like they want it.

Why don't we ALL go to the NEXT city council meeting and tell them how we feel?! Talking about it here wont do a damn bit of good! IF we ALL take a stand maybe they will reconsider their ridiculous demands. Most likely NOT, but its worth a shot! If NONE of us comply then they are just going to fine us, and or serve us with papers to appear in court where we will be court ordered to comply anyway, as well as paying lawyer fees and fines. There really is NO choice but to comply unless we ALL take a stand together at the next meeting!!

I was told by an lawyer he could stop them from towing your car off your property or fining you for having it parked on your property.I want to see them ticket me ONCE! I'll have them in court so fast!!

So, did everyone here get a visit from our Chief of police Tyson? We sure did, and although I wish to comply to an extent, their demands are ridiculously outlandish and absurd. There is nothing wrong with my paid for vehicles sitting on my paid for property! We keep the grass mowed, and plant flowers and do some landscaping to try to improve the look of our property, while so many houses are abandoned or lots are empty and grown up in weeds. And look at Down TOWN Main Street! Buildings literally falling down, broken windows, falling plaster, its a DISGRACE!! Even the flower planters were grown up in weeds this summer! Sure Mrs. Crapson spent tons of time painting all the empty trashy buildings to try to make them look good, but look at them now! The paint is peeling and faded and they look worse than ANY privately owned and lived in property IN Tarkio! Are they doing anything about THAT?! Uh, no. They ARE however worried about the "town image" enough to send the Chief of Police to my home to tell me to move MY property OFF my property! WTF?! I will comply to a point, I agree with making the town look better.. but lets start with the OWNERS of the DEFUNCT and FALLING DOWN businesses DOWNTOWN! They obviously have enough money to have bought the business building, then THEY need to clean it up and make it attractive to ME! Lets not single out the "small" problems..lets start right down there and get their azzes on the ball!

I agree if you dont have a last name you ain't sh"t. However I do agree the town does need some renewel like how about the parks pool or the city of tarkio properties why can't they spend or donate the money there instead of going house to house stirring up sh"t at one time there was over 90 properties on the renewal list. I have never seen the coward ways of the city council members in my life, one person commented on the fact that the kids move away because they dont want to live in hell, I came back and applied for a job with the city and they wouldn't even give me an interview for the job, they said they would but i'm still waiting!!!!!!!!!! The other city workers wanted them to hire me but I guess they like outsiders and people who don't no what Tarkio politics is all about.

Be honest, Tarkio Renewal is not forcing you to move your junk. The City of Tarkio is. You've thumbed your noses at the City ordinances until you’re up to your arm pits in garbage, junk, and vermin. Now that Police Chief Gibbons and the boys are finally asking you to move some junk, and you need to have someone to blame.
If Tarkio has a snow-ball’s chance in Hell of surviving, it will be from the efforts of Tarkio Renewal, not from the “dirties” like you!!!
If you’d take as much time cleaning up your properties as you did bitching, Tarkio might be a decent place to live!

LMAO! Are you Serious?! Tarkio "Renewal" is NOT renewal at all. Just WHAT have they renewed?! Tell me ANYTHING! They have Torn down yeah, but renewed? Nope. Not a thing.
And as far as "thumbing my nose at Tarkio's City ordinances" that couldn't be farther from the truth. I love Tarkio...hence why I moved here.. and would love to see it develop into something great! I try to maintain my property as well or better than my neighbors and according to ordinance. However when you have teenagers with cars and you and your spouse each have a vehicle, WHERE do they propose that I park? We do the best we can to keep the street clean and clear, but having 5 vehicles DOES make for some tough places to park. So by parking MY vehicles in MY yard is affecting the beautification of Tarkio HOW?! It is affecting Tarkio Renewal HOW?! It is affecting the CITY HOW?! I pay taxes on ALL of them and see no need to sell or otherwise dispose of them just to please the city.
While you DO have some valid points, I am SURE there are some properties that were cited for "trash" etc., you are way out of line in classifying ALL of us together.
And being "stupid" doesnt mean that you are "trash" either. Thats just wrong of you to allude to and you should be ashamed to make such an assumption.

My neighborhood is nice, my neighbors are nice. My husband grew up here, and wouldn’t live anywhere else. My kids love Tarkio, and I love Tarkio. Rusty, everyone has a responsibility to keep their section of town from becoming "a Sh*t hole", as you call it. You do it for your neighbors, but more importantly, you do it for yourself.
It takes work to make a town with a declining population a good place to live. Ask yourself what you have done to make Tarkio better. If you don't have an answer, you are part of the problem, and not a part of the solution.
