I have been proud to be part of the Tarkio Community for most of my life. I have visited the nursing home in Tarkio many times the last several years. Over the last year or so the place has changed so much it is crazy. The smells are worse when you visit and the staff isn't near as happy as they used to be. I know of several families that have taken their loved ones elsewhere when a local nursing home would be more convienent. The nursing home hired a new Administrator and Nursing Director over a year ago and it seems to me the place has gone downhill ever since. How sad for our elderly! I worry that Tarkio will end up losing this facilty and the jobs it provides if things dont shape up. I was there just last week and saw a state inspector-it amazes me how much extra staff is around when people are watching. Makes ya wonder. I know a lot of the staff that used to be there have gone elsewhere and quite honestly...I miss their smiling faces!! Don't get me wrong-they still have a lot of great workers but things sure seem "off" to me.

I have family that works over there, and your right things have changed. The Administrator needs to stop and think about what she is doing and how she treats the people that work for her..She has lost some good people that care deeply about the ones that call North View their home..

You can't treat people like animals and expect them to stay. They need to fire that administrator for being a dumbass! She wants to play like she's a big shot but no one working there respects and will not stay if she continues like she is!

As long as you do your job that you were hired to do, you'll have no problems with the Administrator. It does not smell, and generally everyone smiles. Those that do not, have got their own problems, nothing to do with their employment at Northview. Employees are paid to work, not to sit on their asses, and do as they please. The best interest of the residents is her concern. I have much respect for her, I'm there for the resident, not myself.

I also work at Northview Manor. Prrevious writer was correct. If you do your job you will have no problem with the new administrator. She does care if the halls smell or not. She cares about the residents and wants the best for them not the workers. The resident is her main concern. If that is not the concern of the workers then maybe they should leave. I see her cleaning the resident up. Washing their faces, making sure someone combs their hair, brushes their teeth, and shaving them. This does not sound like a woman that doesn't care. It sounds like she wants the staff to do their jobs to make it a safe and clean place for residents to live.

Okay...first of all....I work at northview manor and am a nurse there for those of you that don't know. I am very proud of the place I work at and what I do there. I don't appreciate ANYONE talking down on the nursing home and especially people that don't even work there! From what I understand Northview Manor doesn't have a very good reputation, but I may be wrong. Since I have been there (October 2008) I have seen a lot of change and improvements made in the facility. The change that is going on at this very moment is wonderful and I can't wait to see where this new obstacle we are having to face will take us next. At any work place there are problems, and I'm not saying we don't have problems there, but they are nothing compared to what many other places are facing right now...and might I just add...nursing passed state inspection without any tags this year!!!!!:) AND by the way I think the new administration in wonderful and they have brought many new and necessary ideas, opportunities, and changes to my place of employment. Thank you for your time and might I just add....sign your posts from now on if you want it to be taken seriously.

I 100% agree with Kim, Love Linda and the way she cares for the residents. NV will be a better place when those who don't care about the residents first, are gone.

I think she ordered you all to say nice things about her and NVM because I have heard all over town employees hate her and she is an idiot.

How does that even make sense? she can't tell us what to do in our free time and I guess that really says something for us...you know, sticking up for ourselves and our fellow co-workers, and our place of employment in our free time....get real. Just like I said before...you don't know unless you work there...if you would really like to know how things go-take a risk and try it out...i'm sure you won't be disappointed and realize that it really is a good place...p.s.-why won't you sign your name?
