i'm no longer a citizen of the United States of America and all those who live in the five-state area that encompasses our country are free to join us parts of the states of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.

The new country would issue its own passports and driving licences, and living there would be tax-free - provided residents renounce their U.S. citizenship,

Well think this over. I live in St Lous and Bud just got bought out by InBEV a belgium company. So should the employees be forced to only speak French. Sorry you buy a business in the state with highest percent of the population is spanish speakers. I THINK NEW MEXICO may be a clue.

Way to go Mr. Whitten, a true American hero, that deserves all the respect one can muster for having the guts to tell those ignorant, arrogantly disrespectful Hispanics what they can do with their "other than English", unAmerican, language!!! ENGLISH ONLY IN THE WORKPLACE, EDUCATION, AND GOVERNMENT for UNIFICATION of these still United States of America! Tell the next ignorant immigrant to OUR America that ENGLISH is the ONLY acceptable language to be heard while these numb-skulls make money and a good living in our midst. Grow some balls apethic Americans, like Mr. Whitten!!!
This person no doubt considers himself the archetypal American, a true patriot. And what can be more American than freedom of speech, freedom of choice, freedome of expression? Of course, a mind such as the one quoted above would say he "was supportive of freedom of speech, except when it comes to language..." He also conveniently forgets that the persons he derides are in fact American citizens. How do I know? Because I'm one of them. I was at the hotel protesting because unlike the "patriot" quoted above I believe in freedom of choice and freedom of speech. When Uncle Sam held out a "help wanted" sign in 1967 for Americans to help out in Vietnam I didn't wait to be called, I shoved my way to the front of the line to answer Uncle Sam's call. And I've earned the right to my freedom of speech, so to this unenlightened soul I say "Que te vaya bien!" (Good luck.)
