I live in Boyette Springs and these birds are everywhere on trash pick up days, getting into everyone's trash and dragging it all over the place! They make a huge mess and since the trash pick up doesn't get here until mid afternoon, they have the majority of the day to get into the trash while it sits out!

It sounds like they built the development in the vultures natural habitat. They were probably used to roosting there before the development. You poor retirees, I really feel sorry for you.Im sure the birds will pay the price.

You moved by 5 Lakes give me a break. And if they fix this for you then you will have to find something else to complain about.

FUNNY!!!! The buzzards are making the OLD buzzards mad!
Those lakes were, most likely, a traditional resting place for buzzards. THEN the OLD buzzards move in and whine. TOUGH. Live with it.(Or better yet, move back up north!)

I love how people always use the "If you don't like it, move back North" line. If everyone who actually was born in Florida would stay, and everyone else leave, this place would pretty much become a ghost state. Can't imagine what the taxes would be then after the snowbirds and tourism left.
But that's ok. You'd just find something else to complain about.

Want me to move North too?

Look we all have things around our homes we wish were different and we have to learn to work with it. I know I would love to have a few of my trees gone because the leaves are a pain. But the state says nope. So I have no grass on 2 sides of my yard, dust in my house and a dirty side of a house all the time. I clean and clean never stops. But you know what I should have realized that when I bought the house. We have to stop destorying the land and learn to live on the land. I have see beautiful areas that are now stecco. I hope the state can come up with a plan to help ya'll since they did not think some of this though when they built on the land. Maybe the land should have been left for camping and weekend get aways. Till then do what I do. Get a blower and a hose and clean clean clean.
Have a great day going to blow some leaves now. Oh and the squails wow they will chew up everything, but I again I should have thought.

The balance of ecology is always control by the government. The buzzards are no exception, I'm confident the state of Florida can handle the problem(if any).

well try working out at the Kennedy Space Center, which lays on a wildlfe refuge, the buzzards are out of control, constantly crapping, vomiting, eating leather bras off our cars, windshield wipers, molding around sunroofs!! they destroy are cars and NASA doesn't do anything, no compensation for our damages, you would think they could at least spring for covered parking to protect our property!!

Wow! the ecology(& probably politics) demands that we humans respect the carrion eating birds(buzzards), we can't just shoot them.

. Yeah! we know, but we humans need to survive with laws, regulations, and the like. Just leave them alone, and they won't bother you. Just ignore them.

I am not an old buzzard, but vultures are a neat part of the southern environment. They even seem to work in pairs to direct traffic around road kill while each takes turns eating. I just moved to FLorida and everyone seems to be pretty thankful that I am willing to buy one of these millions of empty Florida homes. My neighborhood in TN had so many new residents from Florida that I had to come here to see why everyone was evacuating.

I have lived in Bartow most of my life and have never seen the amount of buzzards as there are now. The whole state and others are actually their natural habitat if you want to put it that way. But there must be a way to reduce the number of these birds. I believe they are overpopulating there own species in this area all the way to Tampa.
