This only says she was accused of stealing, was she actually charged?
Can she claim any restitution for the two months she sat in jail? How awful....

The war on drugs is working! Keep those junkies in prison, they are such a threat to the security of rich people. Wait, dry cat urine? i am not familiar with that drug? is that one of those new designer drugs?

well, okay. That's insane that it should take two months to get test results returned, but at the same time, if she's stealing then I'm not feeling too bad for her that she was in jail.

Well if you are accused then you are charged. Your court date determines if you are found guilty and no she will not get restitution but I'm sure she will get paid in a suit

I took a human biology class about a year ago and we had an experiment that included testing urine with PH strips, though I'm sure it was not cat...but if you're dealing with kids in a science project, it's probably used to diminish the value of splashing human urine on each other, of course, anyone who has ever smelled cat urine knows this isn't the best deterent.

I'm sure that if the picture of her now is the way the cops arrested her, then she was assumed guilty until proven innocent, not the other way around. This is another fine example of the Tampa's finest at their worst. It should not take this long to test the substance. The cops already convicted her and had the lab run as slow as they possible could. I wonder how many other "field" tests they've done that were wrong and didn't tell anyone about it. I'm sure those cases plead out and never went to trial. Whoever hanled the "field" test needs to get a refresher course and the PD needs newer equipment to properly test for drugs. I always heard cat urine has a high PH level and amonia level. What about Meth? I know nothing about the drug Meth.

Cat urine is NOT used to test for pH. Please fill us in, oh great one of cat urine. You shouldn't come on here blasting someone's explaination without giving the reason. Tell us...what is cat urine used for?

I'm pretty sure he meant that the urine was being used in a pH test to see how acidic it is. Remember, the mother was claiming it was for her kid's science project. Also, please be a bit more considerate of your attitude when posting. There's no need for the sour grapes.

Urine is not used. Our lab uses a Solutions varying in percentage to test PH.Urine? Never, but it is funny. She spent two months in jail for shop lifting, sentence served, leave her be.

The last time I was in WalMart with a vial of cat urine in my pocket, I wasn't jailed for two months.
Why not?
I wasn't shoplifting.
If she hadn't been shoplifting, she wouldn't have been arrested. There would have been no controlled substance charge, because her purse wouldn't have been searched.
Next time, I bet she'll leave the cat urine at home. And I bet there will be a next time -- this is far from her first conviction (convictions are matters of public record, you see) and I doubt it'll be her last.
