Hello, Please help me, I would give my right arm to get pain relief, i have been in constant back pain L4/L5 on the left on the spine for 6 years straight now , in fact i have only had 4 pain free years since my car accident in 1996 at 19 years old and i am still undiagnosed? i have tried all doctors / physio/chiro/accupuncture,priv ate pilates/facet joint injections, meditation , counsellling, antidepressants, lyrica, the only thing that helped was my oxynorm and now it has been taken away from me HELP I have been wrongly cut off my opiods from the DDU about 8 weeks ago and i think about killing m,yself almost daily, i would like to know how to get them to listen to me as i am not a drug addict, but desperately need pain relief, i cannot even talk to my family without crying most of time i just lay here alone week after week and i see my lovely husband about two hours a day after his work, i just want to be able to sit up and hold his hand without terrible pain. Does anyone know how to reason with DDU, i have tried 10 times or more and my doctor is not getting any where??? please help, i have to much to give and i love life , i just want to be able to be a part of it again thankyou Nicola Australia

I suffer from extreme pain 24/7 from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia and severe arthritis. Doctors can't figure out if it is osteoarthritis or sero-negative reumatoid arthritis. I was completely healthy until I got an H1N1 vaccine two years while I was on active duty. Then my health went downhill fast. Within two months I couldn't run or even make a fist. Most days I can barely walk or turn my head at all. I have severe pain in all of my joints and muscles, head to toe, especially my neck and shoulders. I have been to numerous doctors, pain specialists and rheumatologists. They have tried so many pain meds, I think my body is intolerant to all pain meds. The list includes, Elavil, Effexor, Ultram, Butalb/Acap/Caff/, Vicodine, Nucynta, Celebrex, Cymbalta, Butrans patch, Fentanyl patch, Exalgo, Zipsor. I can't tolerate narcotics because I lose too much weight and have sexual dysfunctions. NOTHING works. Does anyone have any ideas I could tell my doctor? I am desperate!

Hi Crystal, Thankyou for replying to me about morphine, i do tend to agree with you about the morphine(Ms contin), i did not like the headaches from it, yet the oxynorm 20mg instant release up to 6 a day was great over the last 6 years, i got cut off because my husband who is my career had to work away for 6 months and i can not shop etc. so i bit the bullet and went up north(8 Hour trip in his van) i could not walk for five days when i arrived, just crawled and he helped me sit on the toliet etc and i took more than 6 oxynorm a day. then i went to a G.P up there and he prescribed me the extra oxynorm that i had used on top of my monthly allowed script. I told usual doctor back home what i had done and asked home to pass it on to th DDU what i had done. The DDU cut me off cold turkey after 6 years on 120mg morpheine and 120mg oxynorm. I am now swallowing 2 physeptone infront of chemist every second day, the cab fare has been $30 each day and doctors visit to obtain script $71.50 per week. I also spent $600 on Prolotherapy injections which may have worked, but i had to stop having them with the G.P up there because i had no pain relief afterwards (OXYNORM) AND IT WAS A TWO HOUR ROUND TRIP WITH CATCHING CABS AND MY BACK FELT WORSE, but i do believe it could work for many people, its just a shame my meds got cut off before i could complete the course of injections.I now have Hypertension, heart pain and my blood pressure on pain meds was 120 over 80, but now with pain it reaches 178 over 132 and now the G.P can't help me with prescription pain relief because of DDU order. My husband tore the muscles off his ribs getting me up off the floor last week( my poor baby). I do not want to die,yet i do not know how to live with my back pain. The DDU have even stopped my sleeping tablets and i have been told if i broke my arm etc i would not be able to have pain relief from the ambulance, which scares me. Since being cut off i have been to hospital with severe back pain, severe heart pain, but they are not allowed to give me relief because of DDU order. I am treated like an addict and they don't seem to believe me about how much pain i am in. I will continue my pain management exercises i learned from the 8 week course i did a while back and my physio excersises (which has cost my husband $56,000 in total treatments of every kind, including spirtual healers to Facet joint injections, but i feel like a crimal or at least i get treated like one. If anyone is on Pain meds and you want to take a trip and you think you will need extra meds to cover pain, i would recommend not to go unless your primary Doctor wishes to prescribe extra meds for the trip. If anyone Knows how to reason with DDU or has been sucessful before in getting pain meds back please write on this site as i just want to go out for dinner or see a movie like i could on my oxynorm. In the mean time i am staying as positve as i can and putting on a brave face so my family does not stress to much about me. Thankyou Nicola Australia

Because of my heart I was taken off of all narcotic/opiod pain medications and I am seeking help to find something that will allow me to at least function. I am at a loss and am willing to try anything at this point to be not even pain free but to make my severe pain tolerable. I see my physicians and pain management and both are at a loss of how to help me without use of narcotic pain meds. If anyone is experiencing andything similar or knows of something that might help please let me know.

deb you sound like you are suffering tremendiously, and i send you hope and love from a fellow human whom shares this planet with you. Nobody knows how much you suffer only you. And i am sorry for that, cause as you know at the end of the day, we are all very much alone. I will think of you and hope and pray that you get better. My sister suffers greatly as well, and i send her love and hope of a cure every day. She is about to try a legal herbal remedy that she can smoke and that is ment to help with the pain, i will keep you posted to let you know how she goes with that.

Thankyou Natalie for all your kind wishes and helping get the word out that people suffer from chronic pain and not just me, The Legal herbal smoke was terrible, it made me so high and disorentated and i was really scared, please anyone do not try these herbal smokes that are supposed to replace marijuna which i dont smoke, but i know it can help with pain relief, so that is why i tried the legal version, but i could have walked in front of a car and died, i could not think and i did not know where i was and the whole left side of my body went numb, i would never recommend it, even if you are 10/10 pain all the time! I will not go to any ilegal drugs either, but i will keep on trying to explain to my doctor and the DDU that i am not addicted i just need pain relief to have some mobility, Thanks sis for your posts love Nicola

Please if there's anyone out there who is familiar with the pain med, Neurocet, would you please share your feelings and experience with us? I have a 30 year old son who had a horrific accident by falling over 30 feet from a tree. While starting to rain, he slipped with a chainsaw and fell. He landed flat on his back on top of the logs that he'd already cut down. Needless to say, he suffered a spinal fracture, extensively.
A year later, he had a 4 level fusion done. That was 2 months ago. He has a wonderful girlfriend, is going to have his first child in April. And he's completely miserable. And so is his gf. My son is depressed, because he's been told that he'll probably never work again. He was an excellent worker and prided himself in that area. It breaks my heart to see this sad transformation taking place before our eyes. He's not the same kid. Short of praying, I really don't know what to do for him. I adore his girlfriend but fear he's going to lose her for good. She was very understanding, compassionate, helped him in every way she knew how. But now things are almost beyond repair..or so it seems. She has two little girls, and my son is very good with them. He and my daughter both have always been wonderful with kids. Just wish he would be as great with their mother. I really do love this girl. And want her for my daughter in law one day, but I don't see that happening anytime soon if ever.
They're now fighting over her wanting him to tell his pain management dr that he's an addict, but he is scared to death of losing his meds. I have to tell you that he was on the saboxen before the fall. Recovering from a very strong addiction. I can't even say the word, I hate it that much. I just pray that this innocent little baby isn't resented by her mother because of my son. The pregnancy was not planned. Does anyone know of someone coming 'clean' to their dr about being an addict, and if so did they walk out of there with meds still or does NY law prevent them from legally prescribing them any narcotics once they have knowledge of their patient being an addict?
I apologize for being long winded here, but need to know these things and find that there's alot of compassion here and needed to unload all this fear. Thanks for your help and understanding in advance. And God bless each and every one of you.

Thiis surgery is going to need something for a short while, methinks.
There are opiates available as patches or suppositories. Trans dermal patches could be used for maintenance of your chronic pain with suppositories for breakthrough pain. A bit uncomfortable to apply perhaps but very effective, and avoids your stomach entirely.

I am very intrested in finding out more on this medication Neurocet. I am currently taking Hydrocodone,Methadone,Tramadol ,naprelan, lorazepam, lyrica and these are from my family doctor and my pain management doctor. Now my problem has been going fine because I have been on most of these medications for approx. 2-3 years with good results. But---- I am faced with a very sad delimea. You see I am a CDL School bus driver, which I love very much. I have been doing this job for over 7 years with no marks on my record, no accidents, no missed days of work, no issues on my bus, the parents and I have a wonderful relationship. You see this job means so much to me. But I have been able to handle it with the wonderful Doctors that work with me. My pain management Doctor is so caring and helpful she performed a nerve burn in may and I feel that the shooting pain down my arm has subsided. But I do still suffer from pain in the c-6&c-7 vertibra. There has been a fusion and pins placed there because of the hernated discs. But with the medications I have been taking the DOT Doctor has failed me and has stated that as long as I am on any NSAIDS they cannot pass me, so that is why I am writing you today, I am at a total loss as to what to do. Thank you for any help you can offer.
first of all, NSAIDs are NON narcotic and should have no effect on your being able to perform your job. NSAIDs are anti-inflammatories.
I am a chronic pain person and have been dealing with pain for over 6 years. I'm on a lot of narcotic and non narcotic medications. I was a teachers aide for kids with disabilities when I first got injured. I had my CDL license as well. It was required for ft employees. We had random drug tests and also had physicals by DOT. At that point I was on soma and Vicodin. I did not have a problem when I was tested. I took my meds ( at that point) to sleep, so it did not affect my job.
Anyway, my point is,being on NSAIDs will not affect your CDL. Aleeve is an NSAID for crying out loud. I seriously think u need to do the proper research because you are completely misinformed! Sorry!

I totally agree, they treat us so bad, when legit people need help we are looked at & treated like the pushers & abusers who have ruined it for us all...I'm 31, & been in pain since 24 (need 5 surgerys in 5 diff places), I have a reputable job, insurance & take care of my folks who also are in the same boat by worse & in 60s and can't affford meds, and get treated even worse like SSI is a bad thing...why can't people have a heart!
Because they DON'T understand. I am a 45 year old mother who never in my wildest dreams thought I could become addicted, but I did. Going to rehab really helped me not only get off the meds, but helped me understand that opiate addicts are different people and you need to talk to people like "US". The rest of the population will never understand us. My whole lower back from L3 - L5 and S1 are torn and putting pressure on my nerves to the point I can't feel or use my right leg. I am awaiting to see a neurosurgeon. I am currently taking Methocarbol, Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Baclovan.
I know pain and this is the first time I can handle the pain that I am in, it is minimal and narcotic free. Good Luck
