I am very intrested in finding out more on this medication Neurocet. I am currently taking Hydrocodone,Methadone,Tramadol ,naprelan, lorazepam, lyrica and these are from my family doctor and my pain management doctor. Now my problem has been going fine because I have been on most of these medications for approx. 2-3 years with good results. But---- I am faced with a very sad delimea. You see I am a CDL School bus driver, which I love very much. I have been doing this job for over 7 years with no marks on my record, no accidents, no missed days of work, no issues on my bus, the parents and I have a wonderful relationship. You see this job means so much to me. But I have been able to handle it with the wonderful Doctors that work with me. My pain management Doctor is so caring and helpful she performed a nerve burn in may and I feel that the shooting pain down my arm has subsided. But I do still suffer from pain in the c-6&c-7 vertibra. There has been a fusion and pins placed there because of the hernated discs. But with the medications I have been taking the DOT Doctor has failed me and has stated that as long as I am on any NSAIDS they cannot pass me, so that is why I am writing you today, I am at a total loss as to what to do. Thank you for any help you can offer.

I have muscle spasms in the abdomen that void my body. This is extremely painful and happens 3 to 5 times a week for 3 to 12 hours a time. Due to this it has brought on anxiety from pain (I was an Air Traffic Controller to let you know how well I tolerate anxiety and stress before this all). I was diagnosed by exlusion with IBS-D. I am currently on Effexor, Lorazapam, Nexium, Xantax, and Percocet. Trying to remove at least the percocet because I am severely afraid of addiction. Anyone know if this will work?

Hello Terrie,
I have been on just about every pain med available due to having severe herniated discs at L3/L4, L4/L5 & L5/S1. My pain started about 10 years ago. For the past 5 years I've been on mostly narcitics. I wasuo to almost 600mg of combination Oxycodone/Oxycontin. In addition I have been on several drugs that block nerve paths such as Lyrica & Neurontin. I was also on Methadone for about a week. My doctor & I stopped the Methadone after hearing about several deaths associated with it. Over the past 2 years I have weaned myself down to just 15mg of Oxycodone every 4 to 6 hours. The reason why I've been able to do this is the alien mother ship takes the pain away..... I'm just kidding. I've been able to reduce my pain meds due to a complete redesign of my daily functional processes. Like how I put on my socks & shoes, how high my bed is, the types of chairs I sit in, how I get in & out of my car, the type of toilet seat I have, etc. Also, I take 4 to 6 ibuprofen liquigels each day & I spend about 30 minutes a day doing focused relaxation (meditation). I have also found that the amount of water I drink makes a difference. More water, less pain & animal protiens seem to make the pain worse. I still have a burger now & then but I keep it to a minimum. I hope this helps & I would urge you to get as much information about Methadone & it's side effects so you are at least making an informed decision. After bring on narcotics/opiates for so long, I have major problems with bowel movements & intestinal health. Take care & good luck. I hope you are able to find what works for you to have the life you want. |

I have had chronic pain for almost 7 years due to a severe car accident and degeneration of my discs over time. My pain is cervical and lumbar disc damage. I was on a combination of vicodin, soma, lyrica, and motrin all prescribed and carefully monitored by my pain specialist. I also have just had a rhizotomy on my lower back which will hopefully be successful...it was not on my cervical spine. I recently heard a specialist on television saying prolonged time on these types of meds can sometimes cause pain. Also, there is so much focus lately on how it effects your liver. I did feel my body was probably becoming addicted to these drugs since I had taken them for so long. I recently quit taking vicodin and soma at the same time without weaning off of it. My doctor warned me not to do that with Lyrica, so I did not. What side effects might I experience? I am in a lot of pain now and wondered if there was a non-narcotic option for chronic back pain that is also safe for your liver?

Surgery on L3,4,5 is a month away. Meanwhile, I can no longer take oral opoids or even Ibu because they make my stomach hurt. Decades ago I had ulcers from the same thing, and I am not going down that road again. What alternatives to eating the stuff exist? Thiis surgery is going to need something for a short while, methinks.

I just treated a young lady who has had daily chronic headache pain for over 10yrs. She was at a constant pain level of 5/10. When she left the office 25 min later her pain level was 0/10, and that was the first time she was ever without pain. Her depressed attitude was also much improved. She gets no relief from oral pain meds, for her they were a waste of time. The method is non narcotic and is FDA cleared for patient home use for treating pain(any kink), insomnia, anxiety and depression. If you are looking for an effective pain control and that is non narcotic, please visit www.alpha-stim.com |

I am 22 yrs old and I have been suffering for going on nine years with an multisystem autoimmune disease affecting all of my organs. Currently I have medulary sponge kidney disease and I pass 7 to 10 kidney stones a week, and 3 to 5 times a month my stones are too large to pass and I experience extreme nausea vomiting and severe pain. I also suffer from chronic liver pain as I hav cryptogenic autoimmune hepatitis. I have also been diagnosed with lupis and rheumatoid authritis. My hair eyelashes and eybrows are falling out as a result of an autoimmune disorder alopecia areata ophiasis. Iv had my gllbladder removed because my immune system attacked and destroyed it. I experience painful itchy rashes and nausea on a regular basis. I have had lymph node biopsies lithotripsies scalp biopsies multiple liver biopsies. I was also rearended at a stop light by an suv goin 55 mph fracturing my c5 in my neck. Resently I suffered from reverse takosudo syndrome and went into congestive heart failure had to be placed on a breathing machine in icu for nine days and am still recovering. My pain is constant joint liver kidney migrains ect. My health problems and the obstacles I have faced are so infinite I cannot name them all. I have been on percocet as high a dose as possible as weel as fentanyl patches morphine dilaudid valium and ativan for over three yeasr. i am currently on an anti siezure med gabapentin for nueropathic pain. I hav been to the mayo clinic multiple times and seen many specialists. Evryone can tell me what is wrong with me the list growing and no end in sight as far as a definitive diagnosis or treatment.by gods grace I hav a healthy young son and a wonderful supportive man and family. But I no longer can do or be the woman I once was. Because of my heart I was taken off of all narcotic/opiod pain medications and I am seeking help to find something that will allow me to at least function. I am at a loss and am willing to try anything at this point to be not even pain free but to make my severe pain tolerable. I see my physicians and pain management and both are at a loss of how to help me without use of narcotic pain meds. If anyone is experiencing andything similar or knows of something that might help please let me know.

this is basically my experience. i am so miserable. my life is empty. i lost a relationship and may friends as i can barely do anything because of the pain and resulting fatigue sadness and anxiety. i am angry a lot of the time. i try to stay positive but sometimes it is impossible because of my horrible i feel. the only time i have nay peace is when i am trying to be helpful to someone else. i still hurt like hell but it keeps my mind somewhat occupied. i'm desperate for a solution and it sort of seems like this alpha stim thing that keeps being mentioned is just a bunch of spam. does anyone have any experience with neurocet for those of us that are trying to find a solution. |

Im in the same boat Rachel. I dont like hanging out with friends anymore because of how the pain makes me feel down & out. My friends use to cal me smiley nack in the day cause I would constantly smile, those days are long gone. Only time I feel complete is when im sleeping or laying around watching dvd's to escape from the every day reality of physical pain which turns into mental pain, grr.... |

I totally agree, they treat us so bad, when legit people need help we are looked at & treated like the pushers & abusers who have ruined it for us all...I'm 31, & been in pain since 24 (need 5 surgerys in 5 diff places), I have a reputable job, insurance & take care of my folks who also are in the same boat by worse & in 60s and can't affford meds, and get treated even worse like SSI is a bad thing...why can't people have a heart! |
