Yes, I smoked weed during my college days, but I was never so desperate for a "high" that I would invite total strangers into my dorm room or apartment just to get my hands on some weed.

So, you're telling us Mr. Hardy was shot while trying to cop a dime bag of weed.

I could embrace your argument...IF I believed this shooting revolved around the purchase of a tiny amount of weed...which I don't.

The drug world is a different world today than it was when I was in college. You'd be better served expending your energies trying to persuade your son/relative/friend to wean himself off the drugs and focus on his education, instead of roaming the internet trying to convince everyone what a wonderful young man your son/relative/friend is.

Were you there when the shooting occurred? If not we can't accept your version of what transpired.

There are different levels of society and the ignorance displayed by your comment shows everyone you are unaware of this fact. I go to school with the young man who was shot. Yeah, he was dealing drugs and that's illegal but he didn't deserve what happened to him and his family and friends are very worried about him. He will take this as a lesson and be scarred forever by the incidents and actions that led to this. You should be more sympathetic for those less fortunate, even if you don't approve of their actions/decisions.

I spent my 18th birthday and the 53 days before it locked up in the county jail. I was a stupid thug then, just as your classmate is now. I managed to turn my life around. No one owed me any sympathy, because it was my choice to get involved in the thug life, and no one owes your friend any sympathy. If your friend doesn't get his head out of his *ss he's gonna end up either in prison or dead, just as so many of my thuggish friends who failed to change their ways did.

Dapper Dave, This young man is not a wannabe thug. He is a well educated young man who made a mistake. He was not selling, he was giving a "friend" some of his personal stash and was set up. Devyn may be a bit naive and trusting, and he may smoke the occasional joint, but he didn't deserve to be shot by these proven punks. He also doesn't deserve to be lambasted by some small minded critic who believes everything he reads in the newspaper.
