Gasification plant made unwelcome in the area

This "Not In My Backyard" attitude has cost Mt. Vernon and Jefferson County dearly over the years. I sincerely hope that the largely retired, nothin' else to do naysayers who are the VERY few that have showed up to make noise about the "evil polluters" of our "quality of life" will be outshouted by those who realize this plant is NOT going to pollute their homes, land, water, and shorten their pristine underemployed and underpaid "quality" of life. Just like the King City in the 50s, 60s, and the 70s, a few uninformed mouths CAN and WILL scare off jobs, infrastructure, and a leg up on the future. BUT these same people will, I guarantee, be , in a few short years, loudly screaming about the lack of services, high taxes on their fixed incomes, and wondering why things have not gotten better.....LOOK to YOURSELVES and do not spit on the hand of opportunity.

Clearly, we need to know all the facts before we can decide on any of these types of industrial sites.
