North Lauderdale motorcyclist dies, two others hurt in I-95 crash

First he heard the screaming whine of the high-powered motorcycle engines, then Craig McLemore saw the bikes whiz by his car, some weaving around other vehicles as they flashed through traffic on Interstate 95 ...

Looks like another bad night for riders of crotch rockets. I ride a cruiser myself and have had jerks like this blow by me IN MY LANE at night going well over 100 mph. At night, in traffic, you glance in your rear view mirror and see other vehicles lights, but these small bikes are going so fast that they close in on you in seconds. Even if the Camry driver changed lanes, he probably didn't see anyone near him in the lane and didn't expect to have any lights behind him close in on his car in two seconds. Bad judgement by these bikers to not have their bikes under control. Sorry that the people in the car had to be a part of the biker's careless actions and consequences of their recklesness. Such a shame that so many riders of sport bikes never seem to learn from these mistakes of others that are so often fatal.

Mr. Jimenez got what he deserved. I know his family and friends may be offended by my comment, but he brought his death upon himself by his own action. His careless action and total disregard for his fellow human beings surronding him lead to his demise.

Mr. Jimenez and all his other little buddies that drive these crotch rockets will all have thier time. I live in a home that backs up to the Turnpike. There is not an hour that goes by that you do not hear these idiots screaming up and down the turnpike well in excess of 100 mph.

There are time and places to drive fast and furious, but not on public roadways where you put others in danger. As this incident proves a motorcycle traveling at great speeds has enough energy to send a car into a spin and crashing into other vehicles and fixed objects.

So to all of you who fly down the road and sometimes on one wheel, please be sure to sign up as an "Organ Donor" so some good may come of you.

Investigators are trying to determine if speed was a factor and also if the driver of the Toyota changed lanes.
Really Mr. Investigator? You think?

I usually don't make negative comments about someones death, but these idiots are getting worse in there's more and more of them. I have NO sympathy for them. They endanger responsible drivers on a regular basis.

i think it was good they were wearing helmets but they were so stupid to do 95-100 miles. Just because they have a bike and can fit in between cars and go faster doesnt mean they should. If u crash at that speed your lucky not to die. In this case two were very lucky one wasnt. Because they chose to go that speed, someone lost their life and the others are badly hurt. Maybe next time they wont do this.

Three less morons to endanger the rest of us. FHP needs to come up with a plan to trap these maniacs. It is epidemic.

True, but crashing at those speeds wearing a helmet or not is just the difference between an open or closed casket funeral service.

Idiots. Another candidate for my yearly award.

Everytime of these aholes blows past me at 120+ miles per hour I say a quick prayer that a car changes lanes and sends them to meet their maker. They obviously want to die driving like they do, so I think their wish should be granted. Thankfully, the majority of the time they only kill themselves.

Oh great. Now the overburduned Florida taxpayers have to pay to water the survivors!

I wonder if they were thinking right before it happened "Oh what a feeling....Toyota!"

All I can say is one less moron on a crotch rocket. And I'll cut the sympathetic posters off before they start in as usual about how they knew them and we nice guys and your insensitive to their families etc.

I don't give a crap. They are morons who think they can do anything they want because they drive high powered bikes. They think they'll live forever and don't give a rats *ss about their own friends and families so if they don't, why should the rest of us?

I was driving on federal highway that night, when a pack of these idiots were riding like morons and popping wheelies. They turned on broward heading to 95. I would say about 30min later I was on 95 in that traffic. Saw it was a bunch of the bikes laid out and the yellow sheet. Oh well, you ride like an idiot you get everything you deserve. Feel bad for the inocent motorist that got rear ended.

I hate to say it, by my sympathies lie solely with Connie and James Chesney, the innocent victims in this tragedy.
I have no comassion for Jimenez, Balderas and Rodriguez. They, like so many motorcycle riders, chose the drive recklessly and assumed the risk of severe injury and death. Basically, they got what they were asking for...

100 mph is a very SAFE, Conservative estimate. I travel I95 each night between 12:00am and 1am..and each Wednesday night these guys FLYYYY by doing atleast 130-150, and THATS NO JOKE. ANY LANE CHANGE whatsoever will kill these idiots. Drove by the scene probably about 20 minutes after it happened with pieces, helmets, and crying people everywhere, and the yellow tarp. Sad, but it will continue to happen. There must be a bike night somewhere south on Wednesday night, because that night of the week seems more of these clowns are together pulling this crap than other nights.

We all know that reckless drivers are dangerous, and that we should all fear for our lives when we see these guys flying right next to us for the 2 seconds they are visible, but it is one thing to be a realist, and another to be cruel. Tomas Jimenez (My uncle to you idiots) was a great guy, down to earth, amazing heart, and great humor, sure he made bad decisions with speed and sorry to the couple in the toyota, but he lost his life, and not only won't he be bothering you guys anymore, but his wife, Bilmania, 4 year old son Matthew, and 11 year old daughter Biliana (which all look exactly like daddy) won't ever see him again and I think thats more than enough punishment for his reckless driving. The couple survived so leave Tomas alone.
Speaking for the Jimenez, Moronta, and Abreu family members of Tomas Jimenez, apologies to the couple and those afraid for their lives with everyday reckless drivers, and you Floridians with such hateful hearts should really take some time to think about who you are offending before you write. Typing "no offense" doesn't cancel out the fact that you are still being offensive.
R.I.P Tomas De Jesus Jimenez. We Love You.
And as for the rest of the bikers, I hope you can learn from this... The greed of speed kills. Think about your loved ones before you ride.

We all are not saying that we don't feel bad for his wife and two kids. Maybe he should of thought of them before he drove 100+ into the back of a car. Did he think well I might be able to hold on.
