The lure of the Vampire

I am speaking as an ex twilight fan. Though i once adored the Twilight series i never thought for a second that it could compare to that of Underworld, Blade, or any other true vampire movie or novel. To say that it is a match is an insult to Dracula himself, hell all vampire lore had been disgraced. My main concern about twilight is the fandom. It is down right disturbing, disgusting and shameful the way many of these people are acting. Little girls at the age of seven are asking strange men to bite them, and woman fighting over who will be Edwards "new Bella". Fans insulting and doubting the literacy and intelligence of those who choose not to make a fool of them selves over unimportant drivel and making death threats merely because a person spoke their opinion about something and they disagree. I believe these people dangerous to themselves and the people around them and need to be institutionalized.
This is only my opinion. If whoever reads this disagrees and wants to freak at me for it i warn you now i will retaliate.

YOU TELL EM' I agree I like the the twilight series. I also enjoy the movie. But I'm not crazy. I'm not a freak. It's like this, I don't hate it, but I'm not crazy.I'm just normal. ok yeah the actors are hot, but again no need to be a freak. People say stuff like " Oh I'm waiting for my Edward." ok one, YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO FIND HIM. and two , You can only find real men"Edward" in fictional book. Hens twilight. ok I'm ready for new moon but poor Rod and them. Having to go threw crazy ass fans.

I agree with you. I am a fan of the series and the movie, but there are always those that take things too far. Obsessions are just that, it will die down. Harry Potter and Transformers are coming out soon, new obsession!

I have to say I totally agree with you. The fandom is absolute absurd. I am a Twilight fan and I love the books, but I would never go as far as these people are doing. What in the world are they thinking?? It makes me disgusted and not want anything to do with the series that I so once adored so much. I love your comments. Hopefully it reaches the ones who do act this way and make them open their eyes and realize how stupid they are acting.

twilight is so awsome i am obbessed with twilight it is really the first whole book and book series i ever read i used to hate reading but when i read twilight i could not but the book down non-stop raeding all the tome.all th vamp guys r so hot and jacob is hot i go crazt over twilight i never can stop thinking about it and can copre almost anything to it. i also like to say i have ocd (obbesisive cullen disorder) and cullen is all the vampier's last name.

I can't stand the Twilight series. It is poorly written and Bella is a horrible character. She has no depth at all. None of them do. They are so one dimensional.If you like vampire lit read Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. Want something lighter then the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris is very good. They are the books True Blood is based on. Also read Christopher Moore's Boloodsucking Fiends and You suck. If you want something dark and disturbing read Let the Right One In, fantastic!

This isn't the only movie or book ppl have went crazy over. I'm sure there's been romance novels that ppl have read and went nuts over too. Take The Notebook for example. That's a wonderful love story, I'm sure that there are a lot of ppl out there that would love a relationship like that. And as far as what vampire should look, talk, and act like, how do you honestly know what they should, could, and will do? No one does, or do they? I love the Twilight Series and the movie, whether they're real or not, it's okay to fantasy that you would love to find "your own Edward" even if he isn't a vampire. He's lovable and sexy. Yes, we know Edward is not real, Rob Pattinson plays him, however every person has the right to dream and fantasize about it or him. As far as "7 year old girls," why are they reading the books or watching the movie anyway? Their parents shouldn't let them. It's for ages a little higher than seven. Go to Stephenie Meyer's website, she states the ages on there, I'm pretty certain that is 12 and up. If you agree with the movie or books, then why let the child read or watch in the first place. I'm a married woman, and I think Edward is just the sweetest thing ever. I would rather my child have a crush on a fictional vampire character, than a rapper who raps about killing, selling drugs, and many many "lady friends."
