I even have a family member that is a lieutenant for a local police force that agrees that TPD is foul play all day long, they are known for it...if they did enforce the law and obey by it, I would support them, hands down...but thats not the case the Torrance police dept. Thanks for the judgment thou Jon and have a wonderful day! Right. No seriously, I am totally on your side now. You sound like one of those guys who always says "and they stopped me for nothing", despite the fact you actually broke a law, just not one YOU think is a big deal. As for being related to an LT who works for a local agency, does he not have a name or an agency? Apparently I should take YOUR word for it. That's ok. I live in Torrance because I like the way they police. As for the "killings" as you put it, I have no problem with those incidents either. Last I heard, the LA District Attorneys office (the agency which would investigate to determine if any charges were necessary) didn't have a problem with the shootings, so why should I. Seems like TPD does very well in protecting our neighborhoods....most likely from guys like you! Oh wait, let me guess......its all a big conspiracy between TPD and the LA District Attorneys office right? Pull your head out and obey the laws and you will not have any problems.

ABC Solar has been in the South Bay installing quality solar system for many years. What kind of troll tries to muddy the water with vapid rumor mongering? You opinion no longer counts for anything. King BOBby wrote: Is ABC Solar a member of the Better Business Bureau? Somethig is not right with this company. They even have an office in orange County but it has the same phone number as the Rancho Palos Verdes one, which gives no address. I am guessing both locations are so called home based businesses. Are these "I've got guys I want to put to work who have kids," located outside home depot?

That comment is only about a decade behind the times and sounds like conservative tripe. The same kind of old, failed legacy tripe that got its butt kicked in the last national election. Solar Santa Monica is the most progressive renewables program for residents of any South Bay city. The rep you claim for Torrance only exists for developers who pony up with campaign contributions. FUGLY wrote: These panels are just plain ugly. But that's not the problem. First off, the contractor needs a wet-stamped engineering document to put the extra weight on the roof. Second, he needs a fire department sign off These panels are always hot and will kill a firefighter. Third, the panels need to be modeled to assure that they don't send a glare onto any neighbors homes, because hat WILL block view. If this guy followed the rules, he'd be DONE. There are already too many firemen getting paid way too much. There are too many engineers making much too much because of bureaucratic rules. And there are too many rules holding back development and growth in this country. Vote no on socialism and let an American do what an American wants to do!

THANK GOD SOMEONE IS TAKING ON THE IDIOTS THAT RUN THIS CITY!!!The Mayor and City Manager have everyone running so scared that no one has been willing to take them on. It is about time someone has the guts to stand up to them. Oh - and "aesthetics" isn't the reason because then it would be illegal. So everyone, including Gibson, has been cautioned NOT to use that word as they will LOSE their case if they do. These city managers will lie through their teeth to get what they want. good luck!

Ready for Change wrote: You clearly know NOTHING about solar panels, how they work or what the law is. You're not just plainly ignorant. You're defiantly ignorant. And as such your opinion is worthless. <quoted text> In addition, the town doesnt want the state, who in turn doesnt want the country to ween off the grid via efficient solar panels, so the country/state/municipality will do whatever it takes to refuse to allow you to have cost control, ever wonder why air cares are barely mentioned in America, you can ask you friendly neighborhood oil representative about that one. The solution is to get off the grid and stay under the radar, modify your own air car and knock on your neighbor's doors offering this service until the masses are just too many for the government to hold back, this is necessary to implement energy change in an oil dependent nation such as this, people wait for it to trickle down from the top, failing to realize it HAS to start from the bottom and FORCE its way up through all the mud dirt and proverbial grime of humanity for it to have any kind of serious effect.

Odd that a majority of the citizens of Torrance feel that thier PD does a good job. Maybe if LA would support thier PD, they to could feel safe. westsidejesse wrote: <quoted text> Hmmmm, guess you dont recall all those multiple innocent killing in east Torrance by the police dept do you Jon? Everone who lives in the Southbay, including Redondo Beach Residents, knows that living next to the Galary is no differnt than living in Lawndale. The people who live are good people, but the Galaria attrcts the wrong type of people. westsidejesse wrote: <quoted text> Dearest Mr Carson, I actually work in your city. Born and raised in north Torrance, went to Edison elementary, Magruder middle school and North high school which incase your didn’t know, is located in the southbay...so like you said, once you were wrong, looks like you are again oldie. I still live in the southbay, not far from the galleria mall, but my toes curl every time I go through Torrance...but thanks for your 2 cents along with judging me and all the others! Let the man put up solar panels already!

There is way more crime in Lawndale than there is in Redondo Beach and it is just a fraction of its size. How close do you consider close to the galleria anyway? One block, two blocks, to Manhattan Beach Blvd (the next major street)? The people who live in Redondo have a larger percentage of professional people than in Lawndale. The education level of people in Redondo is higher and the schools prove it. The houses are in better shape and there is less graffiti. People from Redondo (even North Redondo) Say they are from Redondo, not that they live close to the mall. People close to the mall could be Torrance, Redondo, and Lawndale. Westside Jessie is full of it when he changes his location to Redondo from close to the Galleria. At least he lives in Lawndale instead of Hawthorne. Or do you say that there is no difference between living in those two cities as well?

Thats not what I was trying to say. I said the people that live there are good, it is that outsiders that come to the mall can make it feel that way. You are right there is a big differnce between Lawndale and Hawthorne. I would feel much safer in Lawndale than I would in Hawthorne. King BOBby wrote: <quoted text>You are incorrect. Way to stay on top of this story FAIL paper. Thanks for all the additional info you've provided since 4/28...
Not a peep out of the dying breeze since they published this story. Not a followup of any kind. As if the story just went away - like the print version of the Breeze will be doing within the next 24 months.
Thank goodness there are much better sources of news and information in the South Bay than this sad shell of a newspaper that once was.

half the planning commission, some council members - hell, why do you think the taxpayers are saddled with this badly written ordinance - what, the only people in the city who like light and air live on the Hillside?
This is what happens when you give your neighbors this kind of control over your property rights. They will stick their nose into your business whether it's warranted or not -
Just look at one of the comments "the panels will kill firemen'. Say what? You can't make up that kind of stupidity.
