Don't tell me now the Feds are going to take away our right to kill our own cats. If its our cat it's our property. That's why we got a constitution. WHen you cant' kill your own cat and make a video it means we've lost our freedom. You socialists and muslims need to get out of our country. We got rights too.

Actually, no. A myth perpetrated by animal rights groups to turn misdemeanor animal crimes into felonies. The number is less than 1%. Most people caught in animal crime cases never do it again and are not involved in the other crimes you speak of.

Crulety to Animals & Psychological Disorders:

One of the known warning signs of certain psychopathologies, including anti-social personality disorder, also known as psychopathic personality disorder, is a history of torturing pets and small animals, a behavior known as zoosadism.

According to the New York Times,

"[t]he FBI has found that a history of cruelty to animals is one of the traits that regularly appears in its computer records of serial rapists and murderers,

and the standard diagnostic and treatment manual for psychiatric and emotional disorders lists cruelty to animals a diagnostic criterion for conduct disorders.[45] "A survey of psychiatric patients who had repeatedly tortured dogs and cats found all of them had high levels of aggression toward people as well, including one patient who had murdered a young boy."[45]

Robert K. Ressler, an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's behavioral sciences unit, studied serial killers and noted,"Murderers like this (Jeffrey Dahmer) very often start out by killing and torturing animals as kids."[46]

Cruelty to animals is one of the three components of the Macdonald triad, indicators of violent antisocial behavior in children and adolescents. According to the studies used to form this model, cruelty to animals is a common (but not with every case) behavior in children and adolescents who grow up to become serial killers and other violent criminals.

It has also been found that animal cruelty in children is frequently committed by children who have witnessed or been victims of abuse themselves. In two separate studies cited by the Humane Society of the United States roughly one-third of families suffering from domestic abuse indicated that at least one child had hurt or killed a pet.[47]

I'll check to see if that is actually an FBI study, or something that SPCA puts in their brochures and websites, like anticircus people saying circuses burn the pads off bears feet (because they actually don't know what a bear's front paws look like) to make them stand up. A lot of that kind of stuff is on PETA sites as well.
Back when I had contact with FBI and State Law Enforcement, the rate was less than 1%, and upping those crimes to felonies get the states more federal money for law enforcement, so it was being pushed during various state and local elections..

Yes he was - but he started his rampage on cats and dogs. Being gay really had nothing to do with it.

Scumbag.
So Father, animal abusers may not all be serial killers, but there is something wrong with any human that would torture an animal.
Screw data.

Just for your information, slow leak, New York State considers killing or torturing pets a criminal felony. If the animal dies as a result the fine is $15,000. and 3 to 5 years in jail. Felons lose some citizenship rights, like the right to vote, while they are in jail and on probation. You have no constitutional right to kill a pet that is your property. You have the right to remain silent while you're being prosecuted for a criminal act.

I forgot this website where you can see how states treat animal cruelty. It lists each state and whether or not it's considered a felony, the amount of fine and prison time. NYS is among the toughest. If a pet dies as a result of the torture the fine is $15,000 and 3 to 5 years.
