Best State In The USA

#1 New York!

Hands down, the best state in the USA is California. No place on Earth has more diversity, both in human population or geographic features. Sure NY and Chicago are great cities, but NY State and Illinois can't hold a candle to CA. Worldwide, the word "California" is almost as recognizable as "USA". Here are some places where CA leads: AGRICULTURE- CA produces more cheese than Wisconsin, more oranges (eating) than Florida, more nuts, rice, vegetables, etc. than anyplace else. HOLLYWOOD- need I say more? TOURISM- world class destinations like San Francisco, San Diego, Disneyland...where else can you find beaches, ski mountains, cities and desolation all within an easy day's drive of each other? CALI is the cutting edge socially- the leader in conservation, anti-smoking measures, etc. It sounds odd when CA starts a new program, but several years later, your own state adopts CA's way of thinking. BEACHES- not a whole lot of surfing to be had most days in Florida...Do you know that the oldest living tree is in CA? The tallest living thing is in CA? The largerst living thing is in CA? The highest point in the continetal US is in CA as well as the lowest (you can see one from the other). With great scenery, the world's best climate and something for everybody, it's no wonder that 1 out of 8 Americans choose to live in CA- the rest just can't afford it.(Do you ever notice that people move to CA to chase their dreams? We here in Cali NEVER hear anybody say that they're moving off to Texas to chase theirs...)

Best State? Really? Highest tax rate in the US. More jobs moving out of state (esp. Syracuse! GE, Carriar, Bristal Labs, to name a few) Crime rate up.Albany Politics that centers on two parties that hate eachother and could give a tinker's damn about the citizens who put them in office. Yeah. NY's the best alright. Wake up and smell the sh#t!

fe.I went to Arizona,and a city there
Just try to get the same coverage for Medical,and find doctors for your
condition.(Its a big joke,on me!)I
can not get S.S.,or compensation,to
continue to pay for my care.The state
of Arizona,and the local government
where I am,said I am from the East
Coast,and the same coverage is not
available in the state of Arizona.
S.S.,and Compensation are supposed
to be Nationwide.(not so good)none of
my coverage can be transferred,becaus
e I am from "New York State",so I have to still collect my benefits from the East Coast.The Doctors in
the city where,I was,refused to trans
fer my Doctors records,and my health
coverage. This is "America".The West
The Midwest,and the East,are not on the same page. In my opinion.

california has always been a state with racial slurs and tention.Ive lived there before its ok to visit but not to live.syracuse is the place to live and also bufflo ny.

well if you are alive and live any where in the USA you are lucky . well what are you comparing it to tu be the best ?? is it Diversity or is it historical or what b4 you can say what is the best you have to be able to compare them on the same field

Every place has it's own kind of uniqueness. But the desires or wants of all the people also varies. Similarly, Recently I live in Minnesota. I haven't been to much to other place out of this state. But I have bben to New york for a couple of weeks as a vacation. I found this place very interesting and beautiful. This place has been my favourite destination for all time and I even like to visit California when I get opportunity. So, those two places has been my all time favourite places. If I'm given the opportunity to settle in either of the state then I would chose New York.

I haven't been anywhere but the east coast (to live)... Bronx, NY, Norfolk, Va, and Bergen County NJ. I ask a lot of people who have traveled west about the people there and always the same response....Everyone is "fake", this really applies to Ca. The midwest, well, I'd like to know. As much as we wouldn't want to
"stereotype", it exists and for good reason, many times they ring true. I noticed the difference between NY and Va, of course. But then again, many similarities. We are more alike than different and just like we probably are with other countries. Anyway, NJ is pretty cool, NYC close and the country too, the ocean, if you want fast or slow and a variety of life, NJ wins...and we can spell too...

California is the best state in America. It has 3 of the most beautiful cities in the nation, in SF,LA,and SD. The weather is always great. 75 degrees all year. New York is eith frezing cold, or hot and humid. you have the mojave dessert which is the lowest place on Earth. You have the Sierra Nevadas, the home to Lake Tahoe which has had the winter olymics. You are a 4 hour drive to Las Vegas. I can go on and on, but unless your being completly naive, you will realize that Cali is the best state in the nation.
