Jews for Jesus member sues over park ejection

All this talk about ejections and disseminating... there might be children reading (gasp!)

No religion should be pushed on anyone at anytime.
There should be no Parades of any kind, they serve no purpose.
They tie up traffic, cost taxpayers money and are a general nuisance.

Let me get this straight...this woman was escorted from the park for "disseminating information"....with no charge of harassment being made by another individual?....and at taxpayer expense?

I hope she sues TOB big-time and wins.

If this woman was not disturbing the peace or did not represent a threat to public safety there is no constitutional ground for law-enforcement officials to be involved....at all!

TOB already knows they blew it and also know they are about to pay for it....and well they should unless they have any ideas of trying such an act again in the future.

I'll be attending the Kansas concert in this park next week and hope this group is there so I can commend them on hanging tough!

If you read your New Testament you'll learn that the Jewish people...who were faithful to bring the Old Testament to the world...along with our Jewish Jesus Christ...are experiencing a period of denial which has become the opportunity for the rest of non-Jewish peoples to know God through the Saviour that they will themselves come to know in the fullness of time.
This is simple Christian doctrine.
Any genuine Christian also understands the Biblical teaching that God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse her.
In a day when Islamic militants would love to see Jews and Christians killed alike unless we bow to their Allah (we are both known as "People of the Book" to them)....it would be good to remember who your friends are.

Sounds like TOB messed up. They pass an ordinance saying no one can exercise their First Amendment rights in a public venue without permission from the Town, yet they have no procedure in place to grant permission, and are working on drafting one now. A real Catch 22.

Regardless of what you think of the group's message, it's pretty obvious what the Town did was unconstitutional. And let's get something straight -- in America, you do not have a right not to be confronted with a point of view you disagree with in a public place. That's not "liberal b/s" as someone suggested -- it's called free speech, something any patriotic American should support.

It's too bad there were no cops around in the Americas to kick the Spanish conquistadors out when they arrived peddling christianity.

Of course, they only enforce these laws against Christian groups. If the Boy Scouts or the Little League were handing out leaflets, they'd have been welcome!

what they said was that they could have applied for a permit and set up a table in the park.
what they don't want, and i agree with is that while your having fun with your friends and family, you shouldn't be handed any type of solicitation.

this had nothing to do with religon, but everything to do with harrasment.
why didn't they apply for the proper permit?
personlly i wouldn't care if it was jews for jesus, greenpeace, or the red cross. when i'm at the park with my family, i want time with my family not someone trying to sell something.

I have been approached many many times whie trying to relax at the beach.... these people do not have any courtesy. They interrupt your conversation and shove a flyer in your face... they should get a life!

i work hard all week and go to the beach to relax not to have some weirdos bothering me

If the town big-wigs don't like it, they don't have to listen to it, but to control the tongues of people and make them fear to speak out about their faiths is really, really, Un-UN-American!!! you really should read the article. this has NOTHING TO DO WITH JEWS FOR JESUS AT ALL. it has to do with having the proper permits as is required by ANY GROUP.
i don't know about you but i find someone forcing ANYTHING AT ALL on me annoying when i'm relaxing with my family. religon, politics or charities.
if they want to go to a public place that's fine. it's their right. but it's my right and yours not to be bothered unless we want to.
