Just read in the Abilene Reporter that our neighbors to the West do not like the ideal of a clean operating power plant in this area. Whats the deal? This is a multi buck operation good for the whole area and Nolan County for sure. Not much information was in the article but it sounded like the Judge let matters get out of hand, discussing items not on the agenda. Tax abatement was on the agenda, right?

You're Right Ouch; Abilene!! As bad as jobs/wages and an increase in Tax money is needed, Sounds kind of Stupid, Ignorant, and a little assnine on the people's/ Judges discussion to 'not' let them build it!! The E.P.A. has 'so' many controls, restrictions on coal burning Electric Power Plants, that they should have jumped on the intentions and idea of building a new Power Plant!!!

Come on, Sweetwater Reporter. Get an interview with the County Judge and each Commissioner on their views of the coal burning plant wanting to locate in Nolan County. Interview some of the people opposed to the plant. This is a venture that has a lot of concern by a lot of citizens of the County.

The Sweetwater Opposing-Protesters better get ready for this new Coal Electric-Generation Plant, because O'Bama is going to force it on them, whether they like or not! And with a W.P.A. or C.C.C. Program, that O'Bama is going to put in place they may be the ones out there working for $5.50 minimum wages, just to get to eat. If you are not old enough to know what the W.P.A. or the C.C.C. is then you need to do a search on the Internet.

Summit Power Group a Washington based company plans to build a coal gasification plant near Penwell. If everything falls into place construction could begin next year and the plant could be online by 2013. Will the Nolan County project be under construction by next year?

Good info. and Statement. I saw a story a few days ago about Teneska trying to obtain 55,000 cubic feet of water from Possum Kingdom Lake to Lake Grandbury to cool two more Nuclear Reactors at Glen Rose. But that will 'greatly' upset the many Cities downstream(Lake Whitney on down) on the Brazos River for drinking water. And I have a close friend that has a farm/property at Eskota who is on Teneska's E-Mail list, and he's 'not' heard anything about any soon-to-be plans for building anything north-east of Sweetwater. So your guess is as good as mine.

The People are too busy bitching/bellie aching about Oncor's Electricity Transmission lines/towers at Mulberry Canyon right now!!! They are the ones out in natures way right now. But they are going to have to make up their mind if they want their water and electricity and to be compensated for the utilities crossing over their land, or just move back to town!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Capricorn

A certain person is strong-willed with the Full Moon in your emotional house of others. It's a lunar eclipse too, so this could lead to some ructions in which everyone becomes firmly entrenched in their own opinions and refuses to acknowledge anyone else's point of view. Get the arguments out of the way early on, so you can then concentrate on having a really enjoyable New Year's Eve.
