I realize that to blacks obama being elected to the highest office in the land is a great thing but dont be confused as to what this will mean to the average black in reality. Its not the end to your responsibility as people to do whats right by thinking that the government will be handing out freebies to everyone and all you have to do is stretch out your hand and "the brother in the white house will have my back" The Al Sharptons and Jessie Jacksons have no more excuses for blacks not bettering themselves.

First, he's not a follower of Islam. Second, since when is being a Muslim a race. Does that mean that Cat Stevens isn't white now that he's changed his name to Yusef Islam? Islam translates out 'Peace'. Just because a person is Muslim, it does not make them a terrorist. 95% of all Muslims are peaceful people; which is a higher percentage than peaceful Christians. Why should it matter that he's a Muslim anyway?!? Freedom of religion is a constitutional right. There are millions of Muslim children born in America; some even dream of becoming president someday. Falsely accusing President-Elect Obama of being a Muslim, and having a serious problem with it, sends the wrong message to the children of America.

His father is from Ethiopia. That makes him half black. HIs father was Muslim, and also black. In 200 years, EVERYONE will be multi-racial. Skin does not make a man; a set of testicles does.

um president obama is not Muslim and not to hav disrespect or ne thing but you need to learn you facts about president obama first thing hes black and white so there fo hes mix and second hes the president even tho i wanted jawz mccain fo president lol im playing im glade obama is president and just cuz they rednecks not all of them will be that way cuz i no i live with a family that are redneck and to renee i think your a racest person because to obama that being offensive cuz hes blacck and white not just black so all of yall need to learn your facts.

Amen! I really wish everyone would get their facts straight, this world is going to go to hell in a handbasket if they keep thinking the way they do. I was born in TX and raised in FL and have been through my share of racial tension, I'm white by the way, but I voted for Obama, he's a very intelligent man and I wish everyone would get past his skin color and let the man get on with cleaning up the previous dudes mess.

First of all i was raised in New York city in the Bronx.I am now living in Ga, I am not racist against anybody.But i have come to encounter racist people here in the south. I think that everyone has their goods and their bads but one thing i would like to say is that Barack Obama won the election and i think that it was very fair. Don't get mad because Bush nor Clinton was able to clean things up instead they were good in getting us into deeper shit. I think that we should give Obama the chance to prove himself instead of pointing fingers. It doesn't matter if he is black or white wat matters is that he keeps his word and get us out of the shit hole we are in now.As for your little comment about latino's well i don't have anything against you i am a latina myself but one thing i do now is that white people are not lazy nor is anyone else i think everyone tries to do their best to get what they want. the train has already passed thru have you missed it. Obama is not the train or the engine of the train hes just a pone in what is to come. a when it gits here you'll know it. its not going to be a white or black thing it will be a people thing.
