Yes. They put an offer in and the beach excepted it. New land taxes and some minor changes with laws and zoning. We won't see anything change until late summer/ early fall.

Tanya be serious , no person or the Indians can buy a village without a law or a vote from the residents and the County. There is no such purchase, No one is calling names here, you people start gossip and it is stupid. I buy the OD every day and never read that. Boy the wheels do turn in your face. You state on Topix you live in Camden , what the hell do you care about Sylvan Beach really

Well I know what I read. There also was an offer made on the park last month. Doug Waterbury did bail out Pat but appearently money talks because as of last week he accepted the offer. It does not affect the village because all they take care of the the road between buildings. Another huge piece of property off the tax roles which will make us all suffer

Well, if its true, and Im not saying it is, maybe it could be a positive thing. The park is in pretty rough shape. Lets face it, people arent busting flocking to the beach for the park.

Pat Goodenow might not have sold directly to the Indians, but let's say you're Big Chief Ray Halbritter... You've had your narrow squinty shifty greedy eyes on the village of Sylvan beach for over twenty years or so...The economy sucks.... you need some new gimmick to draw in the rubes to get 'um to gamble away their wampum... something like a cheesy old-tymey Gamblin' Maverick-style RIVERBOAT!> But you need a port of call on Oneida Lake that's "sovereign" Indian territory The missing piece of the puzzle is the Big Chief's partner-in-crime: The Scrooge McDuck slumlord of Oswego, ol' Doug Waterbury. He comes in like a savior making all kinds of promises to spend MILLIONS of dollars to rehabilitate the dilapidated amusement park with all kinds of pie-in-the-sky bullsh*t like Screamers, an old crappy-looking Homolaya ride, period piece costume wearing leftover Renaissance Fair character actors, etc. giving the appearance that you're "really" dedicated to putting that amusement park back on the map while all the time not really spending the merest fraction of what you promised. You then throw your hands in the air in feigned frustration, sell what now is considered a white elephant to the Big Chief to cut your losses. This all can be summed up in three simple words: Conspiracy, Collusion & Corruption.
