February 2012 - Our family and our friends were traveling together in a 2012 Nissan mini-van from TN to FL, via Ga I-75 and when we passed through Atlanta on I-75 we were clocked doing 82 in a 55, which had just dropped suddenly from 70 mph to 55. We were only rolling with the flow of traffic and not passing anyone. Nonetheless guilty. Granted we were speeding and hence ticketed.
The cost of the ticket was $720! We could have flown round trip on Southwest for that! Grow Up GA! Greed is Killing this Country, for Real! and how was your vacation?
Correction... its speeders thats killing this country.

FYI I-75 south of Macon has been a "construction zone" for at least 6 years. They know what they doing down there. It's a get money scheme. Can't knock the hustle though. I got plenty of respect for a REAL cop, but traffic cops are a joke to me. They are like the junior varsity basketball team. No one cares, needs, or appreciates them. By the way Mr. Lawdog, If I need assistance and call the police its not u basic brained traffic cops that I look for to help. It's those REAL cops who investigate REAL stuff. You know, the ones who are too good at REAL cop work to be parked somewhere in the grass with a radar gun and a bag of chips.

The State of Georgia give you 120 days to pay the Super Speeder Violation. If they do not receive that payment by the 120th day at midnight, then they will send notification to suspend your license. The only people that can answer any questions, concerns, rants or remarks would be your local Dept. of Driver's Services or the State of Georgia.

Look up the law. In GA if its your 1st offense speeding there can only be small fine applied. Think its like $75.00.

This Mayberry hick town gets all of its income from traffic tickets I just read up on this dump and the median household income I bet the majority of people that get tickets are black or hispanic!!!
LawDog wrote:
for your information...we do tackle real crimes, however some officers are assigned as a traffic unit and their sole purpose is to enforce traffic laws of the state. don't blame us because you speed and we catch you...and how about if you ever need our help you just call a crack head instead...other wise slow down or shut up!

So you're saying it's all about a persons ethnicity is the cause of them getting a ticket and nothing to do with them violating the traffic laws?? You want to know how small minded you sounded?..... very!

I would know a little about the law before I would start getting advice. You can possibly receive a lesser charge, but that doesn't automatically reduce the fine amount.

I advise anyone travelling on I-75 to stay out of Turner County. I use Hwy 90 from Cordele to Ocilla, then US 319 to Tifton where I get back on the I-75. I shall never spend another dime in that county so they will not get any sales tax from me. I do not care to ever set foot in Turner county again. I tried to deal with the sheriffs office concerning a civil matter and was totally dumbfounded by the lack of respect and willingness to help me in any way. If you are not from Turner county, do not expect any help from ANY county official. My biggest mistake was being naive and believing in equal justice under the law. You can throw your rights out the window when you enter that county. I have suspicions that this is the most corrupt county in the state of Georgia. I've always been aware of the "good ol boy" system that runs these small towns, but I never expected it to be this bad. Good luck to all these topix posters........they will need it Turner county.

You're right. I've got to get out of Turner County as quickly as I can. Maybe I can move a to a metropolitan area, like Lakeland, GA.

Ashburn police need to find something better with their time. These backward ass, inbred, wanna be cops don't know the first thing about fighting crime. That's why the little bitches sit along the highway and pull over speeders for petty issues. They wouldn't have a clue what to do in a situation where an actual crime occurred... They're all punk bitches!
