I just seen the story on Adrienne Hickson on Oxygen. This is a girl who was very controlling and a spoiled brat that was sed to getting hat she wanted. And a five year sentence for that brat was not long enough.I bet she in no way shape or form has paid for what she did.Five years is a walk in the park.

I am watching an episode of snapped and I thought this story was crazy! the self defense story was totally wack as the evidence showed that this was clearly rage. I agree that she should have gotten more time..but I guess she made it by grace

That is sad what happened to Shawn Washington. Her parents seem well off financially if she only got the shortest life sentence for MURDER. I wonder how would her life be on the outside. She will always be considered a murderer. Now that she has a criminal background I doubt if she can work for the criminal justice system. She has to live with her killing him for the rest of her life. I do not feel sorry for her.

Well, although taking another human life is NEVER okay, there are only two people that know what really happened in that apartment that say. Spoiled, maybe, but she loved him no doubt. But who are we to judge? That is God's job, and he will do so when it's her time to join him. Until then, justice has been served... She will have to live with this guilt for the rest of her life..

I feel sorry for her. I think law students feel so pressured to use every minute well that it made her a little crazy and she'd spiralled out of emotional control by the time he got to her and when he asked her to leave it felt to her like she was being dumped on top of all the rest and she lost it. Just lost it. The defense evidence must have been good for the jury to split 7/5. The prosecutor said he didn't expect a second trial to convict her if the first was 7/5. So if she'd had the money to defend against or second trial, or the heart to go through it again she very likely would not have been convicted. I'm thinking she agreed to a plea bargain out of weariness and guilt. I also wonder this. She didn't go for vital regions to stab Shawn. I don't think she wanted to kill him. If he has an artery bleeding in arm or upper shoulder region.. why did it bleed into his head? Didn't the hospital have him lying propped in the bed so gravity would determine where blood pooled? Why did it take to long to determine that he was still bleeding and address the damaged artery? Did Adrienne kill Shawn or did medical error kill Shawn? I, for one, hope Adrienne can serve her time without incident, be released and build a satisfying life.

I knew this girl personally. We went to school together and I know for a fact that her man use to abuse her. Five years is penty of time especially since she was trying to be a lawyer. That dream is completely dead for her now. STOP being so blood thirsty.

I feel adrienne hickson was in a rage-she was jealous and posessive of shawn washington and wanted control of him- so what if he was a drug dealer and if he did abuse her in the past she sure did not get abuse on that day for she was the abuser and was not afraid of him to act the way she acted.it is never ok to hurt another person unless you are trying to defend yourself and in this case i don't feel that was the case-adrienne was mad that he was gone too long and that put her in a rage and she killed him and no i don't think 5 years is a stiff enough sentence for her or no one whom take the life of another human being when it is not a self defense situation-if he had killed her he would probably get the death penalty or life in prison so what is the messege here-- it's okay for a young woman to pick up a knife and stab her boyfriend in a temper tandrum rage and later claim he was abusive in the past- that will get you 5 years maybe less--WOW!!!

like you said-- use to-- she was the abusive one that day and that day is the day that matters as far as i'm concern--if she was so smart she should have walked away but she didn't--she wanted to fight and she ended up killing shawn out pure rage--she had no bruises but he did and he died from them!!!

I wonder where miss hickson is housed at in the penal system in Georgia. When you go to the Georgia Department of Corrections Inmate Locator, she cannot be found. Maybe she is serving her time in Gwinnett County (Where the crime occured). After all, with her upper-middle class background, she probably could not make it serving time in a women's state prison facility. Those women would eat her alive.

five years, what a joke, i guess when youre relatively attractive and have money, you get some leniency, I sure hope she got some therapy or plans to get some therapy once her time is completed, and what about friends and family of the victm in all this, do they get any relief, probably not.

Love? you got to be kidding me, what's love got to do with it? possessiveness and jealousy is NOT love not in any biblical or unbliblical sense of the word, she knew the drill, she should have just packed her stuff and left, seems like a double message, if the guy stabs you, he gets life, if the girl stabs you, you get 5 years probably in some cushy joint, some justice. and what aabout the firends and family of the victim, hope she had at least the decency to write them and offer even a brief note of condolence since she "loved" him so much.

Yes, I wondered the same, she is not in the GDOC system nor is she in the GCSO system as a current inmate.

I had seen this very sad horrible stories on t.v
while I was watch this reminded me of my brother Eddie who girlfriend proclaim his life< but unlike hickson she burn him alived in Birmingham, Al,than took his cell phone to call her family get to get her from the seem. She would not come to the hospital but call my mother from my brother cell whom she kill. Well for the look of and what people say that she was jealous and spoil but how do you know that it wasn't more than that.I think Love do make you do crazy thing and regardless of what anyone say I think she did love him otherwise she wounld give a what and just. My brother Eddie that did have of the thing Washington did but dated someone like hickson, he didn't know that this woman was going to take his life but she did all because she didn't want to see him with nobody else not even family. Remember she burn him alive and call my mom afterward she didn't spend a dawn a in jail at less hickson got 5 years so please appreciate some people wish they can spend someone away.

Obviously he wasnt abusive enough to her. She should have left him. Or have reported atleast one of the incidents to the police. She is a smart girl to know that this is what she should have done. I do not feel bad for her. This is what happens when you spoil your children.

Shawn's family is very forgiving. If that was my son I would not have been. He had dreams too. He deserved a chance. I dont think its over for her yet.

Shawn didnt deserve this nobody does. She messed up his character by saying he is a drug dealer but did she not accept the money he was spending on her and flying her in and out of town. Of course she did. People get more time for carjacking than murder dont we value human life. This young mans mother had to see her son laying in a casket and she gets 5 years. What about his dreams and aspirations. Her parents still have a daughter all shawns parents have are memories. TRAGIC

I had been wondering the same exact thing since I had searched several Georgia Correctional Facilities but came up empty handed. I finally stumbled across the answer under "Frequently Asked Questions" on the Georgia Dept of Corrections site. Ms. Hickson's info will not be published on the site since she took the Alford plea to voluntary manslaughter under the First Offender Act. This is the question that was sent to the GA Dept of Corrections and the answer they gave.

QUESTION: I can't seem to locate an offender using the query tool

ANS: Try using ONLY the first four letters of the last name and instruct the query to return records for ALL offenders, not just the active ones. Please note that we currently do not publish records of offenders that were convicted and completed their sentence under Georgia's First Offender act.

My exact same sentiments. Evidence showed that she had stabbed the couch after stabbing Shawn. The stab markings made in the couch had blood in it. That proves she was enraged not defending herself. Plus the eyewitness testified that Adrienne was acting irrational, bratty, and unreasonable because Shawn wanted to help his friends move. Sorry to the person who went to school with Adrienne, but she doesn't fit the profile of a battered, abused woman.
