Teenagers are generally not mature enough to drive safely.

Probably texting or talking on the phone!!!! and noty looking at the road ahead.
Call me cynical? I stood for 20 minutes today during my lunch beak beside 41st Ave in Capitola I counted 34 people using their cell phones with no hands free device and as many that I suspect where texting as they where not looking through the windshield. All under age 25 in appearence

Just because this person obviously wasn't mature enough to drive safely, doesn't mean that all teenagers aren't capable of it. That was a stupid comment.

A three-Honda accident? Wow, that's weird. I guess it's good they were all small cars, anyway.

I do believe the idiots flying past me when I stopped for a school bus flashing red lights with it's stop-sign out on Soquel, today, were not teenagers . . .

Let's hope this kid got the scare of his life and as a result will be a safe and defensive driver for the rest of his life.

It's really amazing how many are still on the cell phone. Text messaging, web browsing, etc. scares me even more. The ironic thing is the signs say call 911 if there's a drunk driver, yet that would mean you'd have to cell phone while driving! I wish they'd pull more over and give a large ticket for this, you can always tell when someone's on their i phone. Maybe we should call 911 if there's a driver on their i phone!

Go to any high school at quitting time. Double horror - firstly that they are driving the way they do, secondly they are getting onto public roads. Scary!

IF you read it right, he DID say GENERALLY - which is true... Kids these days get MAYBE what? 6 weeks of driver training in school - IF that & then are sent out on the road... I believe it should be at LEAST a full semester where they also bring out the films of what happens when SOMEONE isn't paying attention and EMPHASIZE the fact that a vehicle - no matter WHAT the size can be/IS a DANGEROUS WEAPON that can kill if not 'operated' properly!
Also remind them that driving is a PRIVILEGE - not a RIGHT! I also believe the parents should get more involved: I think now-a-days parents are signing their kids' permit slips & getting them their own cars so they won't have to play taxi anymore...
But that's just MY opinion...

PS - There ARE a lot of good, safe young drivers out there: it's just that the unsafe ones garner all the attention. I think there should be (if there isn't already) some type of recognition program for the kids who are safe & responsible drivers - kind of like a yearly awards ceremony - where the kids get a certificate for going the whole year with no warnings, violations, accidents, etc. If I had the $$, I'd create one myself...
KUDOS to all of you young drivers out there who actually OBEY the rules of the road & take your driving seriously!

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Gemini

You're in a very erratic mood today, making you restless, edgy and nervy. It may be almost impossible to settle to anything for long, because, as Mercury slows, you soon lose interest. If life becomes boring you'll want to liven it up in some way and it's likely you'll choose the most disruptive and controversial option you can think of, even though you know this will cause trouble.
