So last Saturday I was walking to OUR farmer's market and was approached to sing a petition to get a swing set at Murphy Park for our children. After carefully thinking this through... I SAY NO.

It is not safe... you have traffic on both sides of the park and weirdos hanging around. If you want to play... take your child to WASHINGTON park. The city spent money to make that park safe and away from the traffic. Las Palmas is a beautiful park too.

Sorry my vote is against this petition. I want to hear from you, what do you think?

Las Palmas and Washington are superior parks, but for those of us in walking distance to Murphy, I don't see why a swing set is such a bad idea in principle (not sure where I'd put it though - space is tight). Relatively speaking, it's a heck of a lot more secluded from traffic and fewer weirdos than, say, Fair Oaks park.
