Four Paws Up! I called there on a Sunday and was shocked that they were open. My Mother just went into the hospital and I didn't know what to do. The girls there are a mother and daughter operation were so understanding and helpful. I have a boxer, so kenneling is not an option, and they took my Bessie in right away so I could fly to NJ to see my Mother.

Six days later, I returned to a freshly bathed (at no charge), happy baby girl. Now she goes once a week just to play for the day. I don't have a lot of money, but their rates are very reasonable compared to the other daycares I called after I got back and saw how much she enjoyed it. I just wanted to say thank you in anyway I could for their understanding and help when I was in need.

We have the same expression on our part. The first time we took our pet (Kenji) to observe the location we fell in love with the cage less environment, we felt comfortable leaving him from a fewer hours to a few overnight stays. They are great and we recommend them to anyone that needs there pet to stay with professionals.

Another EXCELLENT cageless boarding/doggie daycare is The Dog Resort on Metro Parkway!

Low rates and great service. I use them everytime I have to go out of town. The owner is there 24/7.
I have popped in unannounced a few times just to see what goes on when the owners aren't there and I was pleasantly surprised! My dog was still geting the love and attention that they were showing her while I'm standing right there....

Kudo's to Gail and The Dog Resort!

We don't need to plug, thank you. The sad plug is "lablover" using our review to plug the Dog Resort. We do pamper the dogs here and we are proud of it. We may read our reviews, but our customers know best, and we do not need to put "plugs" on them, until now..thanks to your rude and adolescent behavior. I would just like to say thank you to our actual customers who took the time to comment.

Why only once??
I've used them (T.D.R.) 6 times so far when we travel. They seemed wonderful! Do you know something that I should be aware of?
Everything was immaculate each time and all of the dogs there seemed to be having a fantastic time.
If you have information, I would appreciate a heads-up before returning.
Thank you.

This also sounds like a plug to me. If so, that says alot about their confidence and professionalism to have to trash a good facility.

I see nothing wrong with mentioning other boarding faciities on this page. This is a public forum. Our pets are our family members and if there are good (or bad) facilities out there, they should be discussed without jealousy from one. It's important for people to feel comfortable with where they leave their pets.

I hope more people put reviws up from several different boarders.

This is not a formal "review page" and if you've ever read Topix, you'll know that ANY topic is normally discussed in any thread.

Again, if there are facts backing up the negative post on The Dog Resort, they should be mentioned. I want to know that my "kids" are in the best hands while I'm away.

My dog spent the night cuz i had to go out of town. We got back early and picked him up unexpectantly at 8:30 pm. My dog was very lethargic like he had been sedated. He was that way for almost a day. We called to find out why and the woman was rude and hung up on us when we asked if he was drugged. My dog has never acted like this EVER.I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Acepromazine, Baby.
Boarders and groomers love this stuff. It's like a doggie Xanax. For the most part it's completely harmless and shouldn't cause any lasting effects.

I have been using Dog Days Delight for several years now. Nicole and Nancy and their entire staff are the nicest people you will ever meet and I feel completely safe leaving my dogs with them. You can tell that they truly love animals. One of my dogs is a rescue and he was terrified of every groomer until he met Nicole. She is kind and patient and my dogs are never stressed when I pick them up. I can't believe someone said on here that they drugged their dog...I say no way... I think you are talking about the wrong place. Everyone has a right to their opinion and I never post anything on line but after seeing some of the posts, I felt like I had to say what a positive experience I have had for years. I will never go any place else as long as this mother/daughter duo are in business.

Are you a Vet? If not, then how can you say that Acepromazine is completely harmless? I was just doing some research on this 'completely harmless' drug and it is anything but.

If it were found out that this boarding facility was sedating their clients without owner knowledge, they could have one heck of a lawsuit on their hands.

The way you so nonchalantly talk about using sedatives, makes it apparent you shouldn't be in the animal field. It must not take brains to be a dog groomer.

I think this matter should be looked into more closely.

I've used Dog Days Delight now for about a year, going every 8 weeks or so for grooming. Initially, took my little Shorkie and MiKi there. The MiKi was a skittish rescue who they handled like a pro. Now, I also take my Daughter's Scottie, my other daughter's Hauzer and my Mom's 5lb MiKi. All are returned happy and NOT lethargic. They do a great job, they love and hug the babies and I'm very pleased!

I was checking out different daycares while we had company from Michigan down and didn't want to leave our 2 Schnauzers home alone while we were out sightseeing everyday.
We asked for a tour at Dog Days and they were more than happy to show us heir front area where all of the merchandise is sold, but they seemed reluctant and uncomfortable to show us the back area where the dogs are kept. After getting back there, we understood why. It's extremely small and completely not suitable for that type of business. It seemed to us that dogs are kept crated and only let out a couple at a time to run around a very small room. The whole plaza isn't pet friendly and there are signs up from other tenants in the building expressing their dislike for the dog daycare. They should probably just stick to selling collars and leashes. Needless to say, we chose Pet Coral on Del Prado. The entire building is set up or the day care and I had no doubts that our dogs would be happy there. We will definitely be using Pet Coral next year as well.

I looked into Pet Coral as well and was told that the dogs are left locked in very nice looking rooms for 12 hours each night with no staff on the premises. There would be no one there in case of emergency. They also had a puppy drown at their facility. Pet Coral may look pretty, but my dog will continue to go to Dog a Days Delight. They are great.

Terrible experience with our 2 yorkies. Today they lost a long term loyal customer. Lousy cut on our female yorkie then tried to tell us they were "infested" with fleas and charged us $20 more. Our dogs stay in the house, play on our carpets and sleep in our beds. They have never had fleas. Chaotic when we picked them up, I guess they lost the very nice girl who always took care of us. Will be looking elsewhere.

I'm sure that your aware that there is a DogDay Delight around the corner from you on Coronado. They only do Nails and Baths, grooming only. I went there accidently thru a friend referral. I dropped my dog off to get her nails cut and they did a fine job for $10. And I just left her there long enough to run to the library and grab tax forms.20 mins. As I was paying I asked about their kenneling that is when I found out I was at the wrong doggie days.. Looking down in my billfold I saw a tiny roach run across the counter, I quickly paid and left never , ever to return to that one on Coronda and 47th. I was glad to see I wen to the wrong one and now I will come their next time.
Thank you for the MAP.

OMG Joni! Say it ain't so!! A ROACH in Florida??? A real, live COCKROACH in the part of Cape Coral that has been operating since the late 50's??? I just don't believe it and I am SOOOO disgusted right now. Cannot stand the thought that a ROACH was anywhere near your dog while it was getting it's nails did!! Thanks for the 411!
Joni, on a serious note, your spelling and sentence structure is horrendous and no one is going to give a rats ass what you opinion is. I've come to find out that the only ones who give good reviews of this business (not the Coronado location) work there and/or own it.
If you honestly think that there aren't roaches in every business in Old Cape, you aren't from around here. You're drunk, Joni. Go home.

They did a good job...It was only $10.00....and you'll never go back because there was a "TINY" bug in their business? Like the other person said, you must not be from around here and should probably get on I75 and head North.

I totally agree and these northern drivers always complain about Florida drivers. Hmm probably about 80% or more that live here were not even born or raised in Florida.Maybe complainers should look in the mirror and realize they are talking about other Yankees. I was born in Florida. If people don't like it here all I can say there is not fence at the border of Florida!!!!
