I feel so bad for the two spouses and the children that got kicked to the curb so these two could fulfill their sick behavior. Rios isn't this a conflict to their jobs? Seems to me an investigation needs to be done to determine what laws they may have broken. The up side to this. Cheaters will always be Cheaters. The chance of one of them Cheating on the other is pretty high.

I had a lot of respect for our Fire Department until all of this news broke. Now I have no respect. What else is going on up there that we don't know about. How much money have we paid for them as they plotted to destroy all of these lives. I guess I expected a higher standard for Fire Department personel. Guess they never had the secretary that we elected in error!!

Gee this site is like every other non-constructive site. Everyone has an opinion and no one wants to get involved. If you live in the community stop cowering in the shadows and make a difference. The longer you wait to get involved the longer it takes to correct problems. And for those of you who live outside the Wittman community it is a good thing you don't use your real name. It is probably a good bet if we could see into your personal life and finances everyone could have a great time cutting you down. So your comments are like the wind blowing through Wittman,there one moment gone the next.
My thought, with all the people out of work there must be at least one moral and honest person willing to travel to Wittmans struggling Fire Department to handle the bookeeping.

From what I understand, it's not the books it's the looks that matter at the Wittmann fire department.

since the new administration the personal lives of the wittmann dept have changed , so has the communities, all for the worst of course. the mammories/memories make no difference as the community is being sold out to sun city west fire district so rios can keep his job.at the upcoming fire dept bbq ask chief rios why wittmann fire dept is merging with sun city west fire district, who will be chief, will the community be protected, and why our monies is paying for this, do we really have to pay for sun city west after giving them our fire dept. current budget increase isnt enough so we have put up with the new chief giving us away, and yes all that needs to be done is chief rios signing the papers , the community has no say and chief rios doesn't care what what the community thinks, he's already voted in. the new secretary can only give answers of " i don't know " when answering questions about the budget so sun city west should take it over for proper spending, does she keep her job? what about the reserves or volunteers? AS THEY SAY THE UNDERTAKER KICKS ASS

Nice writing there Larry. How is it you know so little with all that knowledge that you did not get this statement right. I have talked with some of the firefighters after I read this and you are no where clost to the correct information. May be you should talk with them before you start typing.

Is her boyfriend Capt: Johnny P?? If thats the case its to bad for the kids that have to deal with there parents making bad choices and breaking up marrages too! What ever happened to the golden rule! DON'T DIP YOUR PEN IN COMPANY INK?? That seems to be happening alot around there?? Chief Rios I thought you were elected to clean up the problems in the Wittmann Fire District?? I heard that you make execptions and not hold accountable certan firefighters actions or in-actions? Sounds like the same stuff you did in El Mirage when you were fire chief there?? You are Wright on with your comments. Rios has no management skills and Padilla has no loyalties except to him self.
Rios continues to let one dead beat stay on the pay roll, when he was told that he had to get his medic certification by a certain time and was not able to get his certification.
There have some progress and improvements in the past several years in the department.
I am not sure that any of them can be attributed to Rios or Padilla.
One Reserve that I have known for a very long time recently resigned has the skills and attitude that the department needs. His name is James Ellis.
This person came out number one on the current hiring list, but was not hired. He had a temporary back problem and Rios was in a hurry to send someone to an up coming fire academy. This person has already been through a fire academy. These fire academies are not cheap. This academy and other recent training cost the department 30K. The other training is probably justifiable but the academy spending is not considering the current economic conditions (poor management). This reserve is responsible for getting a 20K grant to train four Whittmann fire fighters to be Paramedics. He was instrumental in getting the union setup in the fire department. He was involved in getting Rios to run for fire chief and had the most active role in the campaign. He is responsible for getting the departments trucks numbered and listed in the regional dispatch system. He was able to get recliners donated to the department.
The prior chief offered him a job three years ago but he declined the offer because the hiring process was rigged and he thought another guy who had been there longer than him deserved the job. That person is still at the department doing well. Last year when they were going to hire, the union had arrived at the department and the election was looming. The last chief was now not a fan of James and said he would not hire him because he was a trouble maker. Rios was not willing to let him rehab than go to the academy like most departments probably would done. Shame on Rios!!
I think this guy was screwed.
Bring back James and give him the dead beats job, or maybe better yet Padilla's job.
