Surprise officials: Bond defeat hints at lack of confidence

The overwhelming defeat of Surprise's bond issue suggests that residents lack confidence in the city and its management of taxpayer dollars, critics and supporters of the measure said.

It doesn't "hint" at anything it very clearly says "Mayor McCheese and his gang CAN NOT be trusted with money." If it would have passed Surprise would have 185 million worth of decorative lighting, useless signs and bridges to no where.

I am glad the bond did not pass!! It smells like pork to me!! We the taxpayers still pay for bonds in the long run with raised taxes over a period of time! We already pay high sales tax here in Surprise, now they want more taxes from us when people are trying to stay employed and just keep there jobs and living pay check to pay check????
