Sheriff declares war on crime

What a joke! The sheriff department's lack of concern is why Sumter is fifth in the nation in crime. Now, they want to blame the citizens. How about the department quit making excuses and do their job!

Let's see. It's been five months since Sheriff Dennis made this statement about declaring war on crime in Sumter county. Has his force made a dent in the crime here since that statement? Uh, no. In fact, we have had more shootings here this year alone than we have had in the same time span in the last 9 years. And we still have several unsolved homicides. Gang activity here is off the scale. It's not as organized as they think but it is a large problem. And police empathy is so common as far as dealing with the gangs here.

I do believe that the local police force lets the gangs control certain sections of the county (turning a blind eye), thus freeing up their police units until something major happens that garners the publics' attention.

Besides, in order to win a war of any kind, you must have the majority of your "troops" involved. That is definitely NOT happening here.

Lmao city and county both suck at police work, dennis oughtta be selling used cars lol all he does is flap his lips and has done absolutely NOTHING to fight crime here...
