I was curious if any adults here have had this virus, and how it affected them compared to children. Also, I was wondering if anyone got the H1N1 shot and if so, did you have a reaction of any kind?

I will not get the shot. It is allot of hype like the bird flu was back some years ago. Check this site out before you get the shot, it may change your mind.

Yeah I've heard the crap...get the shot and in ten days you turn into a tard and walk backwards. I got it a week ago...i guess I have about three more days to enjoy being (somewhat) normal. At least I will be a tard that can't catch the swine flu.

Well now, that's a little harsh lol. I don't think it will kill me...I'm feeling just fine. My arm was sore for a while but no other symptoms at all. I know a couple of people that felt achy a couple days after getting it but nothing serious. All I can say is, if you have questions, talk to your doctor. If you trust him with all your other medical concerns, why not with this.

Just wondered about the side effects. Thanks for your imput. I am not getting the shot, but don't know any adults that have had H1N1, only children.

wasn't there something in the news about a woman that got the shot and it messed up her system - one million to one chance. she could speak normal when walking backwards and jogging fast. but otherwise it was depressing to watch.

Yeah that's where I got the walking backward stuff...not funny I know but really its a matter of the benefit outweighing the risks. That lady's case was one in a million, and way more people than that die from the flu. In her case, though, it was the regular seasonal flu vaccine that caused her problems, not the H1N1 vaccine.

I would rather die from the Swine Flu than get an aliment from the vaccine. As my old pal Mark Twain once said,

I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.

Yeah well dead is dead that's for sure...none of us are gonna make it out of this life alive...but I would rather not have someone wishing it on me.

And you have a better chance of dying from the flu than from the shot...which is kinda the point.

Yeah lol like I told some friends, I look at it this way...when I turn tarded I won't know it or mind it...because I will be tarded! Maybe that's what happened and this is it. It's not so bad lol.

I'm not afraid of the H1N1 flu.

But if the H5N1 strain of avian flu from China gets out of control then that may become a plague.

Ozz may then turn into a bird and fly backwards .. lol

I am thinking ESADAH is talking about a different strain than the H1N1 I received the vaccine for. The H5N1 avian strain is mentioned in the post, and I was commenting on the idea that I may turn into a bird and fly backwards if I don't get a shot for that particular strain...which I would do if need be lol.

Let me correct myself...the comment was that if I received the vaccine for that particualy strain, THEN I would turn into a bird and fly backwards, not the other way around. ESADAH's point being that the vaccine could cause a bad reaction...and that would be bad. And I'm rambling, dang it Steamboat, leave me alone lol.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Scorpio

Let the past stay in the past for now. Even though you may have fond memories of intense experiences, the Virgo Moon sees to it that you have virtually no desire to go there again just yet. This is your opportunity to show others what you can do in a more civilised environment. Don't try to shout down someone who is rude enough to interrupt. As unlikely as it may seem, the softest voice has the biggest chance of being heard today.
