and I am guessing this really isn't how they wanted it! http://www.wvgazette.com/News/200911140678 The best part says: In 2002, a Summersville woman told the Gazette that then-Summersville officers Heath A. and L. Shawn Whipkey were suspended after city officials learned both officers engaged in inappropriate behavior with her in a police car. At the time, the Whipkey brothers were the most active members of the Summersville Police Department in writing tickets, especially speeding tickets on U.S. 19. In 2002, Sean Whipkey wrote 3,908 tickets while Heath Whipkey wrote 3,229 tickets - nearly 40 percent of the 18,133 traffic tickets written by 20 police officers. Both have worked as police officers in Gauley Bridge since March 12, 2003. The Gazette has received numerous complaints of excessive ticketing there. I have mentioned the above mentioned issue before on this forum, someone comes in and posts with the name I posted with saying I just was kidding.....think he will post from the Gazette like that?

IMO former mayor Adkins of Summersville was aware of wrong doings, excessive ticketing, sexual harassment of city employees / citizens, tolerated behavior until the pot boiled over. Closed door deals were made at city hall to keep mouths shut, protect themselves, compensate officers and keep citizens uninformed. I wonder how much city hall has paid out in closed door deals during that time? Thank god we have a new mayor and police chief!

I'm sure, like with anything, there are bad apples. Makes you thankful that our county police dept. seem to be respectable and fair nowadays. Most of them are from the area. Allot of those who are have family in the area. Sure they are not perfect but at least they aren't shooting deer outside my house.

This Mayor is as bad or worse than any we have EVER had.

I am so please to read that NO troopers were mentioned in the article... I think this proves the difference in their training and there chain of command, these men and women are taught to know better, and even thou some still mess up occasionally there are less corrupt troopers for a reason...

Who should hire their pick?????? I saw Lefty Truman standing outside the BP talking at the pumps with a blonde woman. He was just chit chatting for well over an hour. I am not implying that he was doing anything wrong so far as the woman is concerned, I am just saying that he was on duty, it wasn't social hour.

You know what, he just might give his wife a ticket. Now let me tell you why. Gerald is an honest, play by the book kind of guy. He has sons that will soon be reaching driving age and I am cetain if he catches them doing "the wrong thing" they WILL get tickets. Then when they get home he will enforce the "Dad" thing. IFF there is an honest man in the SPD...it's Gerald Procter and Eddie Odell runs a very close second place.

How long ago did the Rich Station close? First off, the only indescretion Eddie had was dealt with by his wife Tammy and that was so many years ago it's time to try to find another fault...(which you won't). And he learned his lesson. But that was his personal life and had nothing to do with his professional life. Thank you so much hmmmmmm for recognizing job integrity when it's there! Gerald and Eddie both ARE good upstanding guys. As for you humpty...your name says it all and I think that it sounds like you might have a vendetta against Eddie or might have been jealous that the Rich Station girl turned you down. Since you seem to be throwing around first names, I'm betting you've had to deal with Eddie when he was being fair and not showing favoritism to someone he knows (namely you).
