Nicholas County / Summersville has yet to play a team with a winning record... if they do make playoffs it will be similar to last ones played, a true winning team that should be there and they will blow us out again.

Anyone who is ranked 8th or higher gets home field advantage for atleast the 1st playoff game. And I think as of last week we were ranked 7th. So let's hope

Well thinking like that does not need to get to the kids playing,they dont need to hear negativity like that,they have came a long way and dont need their hopes crushed by remarks like this.
I hope they do get home field advantage and win,they deserve it.

I am a NCHS grad that now lives in NC. I follow the football team by the internet and even if they haven't beat a strong team, they have beaten teams that they were unable to beat in the past. Kudos to them. Keep up the good work guys. Go Grizzlies.

They have come a long way, but when they play a good triple A team they will get beaten badly. I hope they get a home playoff game, but they will more than likely lose to any good school.

We played Braxton and they have a winning record and Lewis County beat us and they have a winning record..this must have been posted by jealous ass Richwood LumberJills and they have really played NO ONE!!!

Braxton is 4-4 and have not scored in their last 4 games. Lewis County is a mediocre triple A team with 2 losses.

Coach Morris does a good job and is a respetable man.

Thank God NCHS is not playing Richwood, we would really get our A$$ kicked... The Jacks are playng teams with winning records..When Summersville starts playing teams from Kanawha county and win that will mean something... Beating backwoods small AA and AAA teams is no be deal!

Pull for All Nicholas County teams...Be real, don't say stupid stuff like NCHS could beat the Steelers, or Richwood's seniors will all go to Penn State.

It is hard for NCHS to compete with the larger AAA schools. NCHS would be a AA power. It will be a tough trip, but I hope NCHS does well. As I hope RHS does well.

i agree with touchdown, both teams have done very well and we should be proud of both.

I think NCHS has a great football team. I hope they get the homefield advantage and win at least one of the playoff games. These kids ( and the kids the last 2 years) are making NCHS football history. The Coaching staff is doing a great job too. Nothing like Friday Night Lights!!!!!!! Go GRIZZ!!!

Its sad that the coaches choose a easy schedule against teams that they know we can beat, just to make themselves look good. It has nothing to do with the kids, its all about making the coaches look like they know what they are doing. But actually they dont have a clue! They only play certain kids, so if your from town, have money or the right last name then you can bet your ass youll get plenty of playing time. What happened to the real coaches like Dobbins, Christian, and Kaham? These guys knew how to coach! Just wondering if any of the coaches or trainers NCHS has now ever even played football? I doubt it!

I knew Dobbins and Christian well. They are good people but definitely cannot coach better then the current coach. They play the same teams now that they always played with an exception here and there.
Some of these teams have always been on the schedule. they've traded double A Greenbrier West for Triple A Greenbrier East. Dropped Single A Richwood. Dropped Single A Pocahontas.

Only one team we have played this year has a wining record, and they beat us.. Lewis County... North Marion has only won 3 games but yet put up a good fight and lots of points. As shown the past 2 years when we play a real competitive AAA team we will get our butts kicked again by a big margin! If NCHS wants to build a quality program we need to add Bridgeport, Morgantown, and Charleston area AAA schools... But with our system continuing to play non competitive schools it will be a easy path to playoffs

Most high schools play other schools that are in relatively close proximity to their own school. it's not a fault of NCHS that the neighboring schools are either double A or Triple A and suck. The only conference that plays the larger Triple A schools are the teams in the MSAC such as Parkersburg, South Charleston, Riverside, etc. Nicholas did play one of those schools, Greenbrier East, and it could not be controlled that East is bad this year.
It doesn't matter who you play anyway. The high school rankings take into consideration the quality of competition and opposing team record when making the poll and a score is developed based on that. That's why Capital had a 5-2 record and was ranked ahead of NCHS last week.
